Hooray, I passed.

With all the pain the moms are dealing with, I hesitate to write a frevilous journal, but I feel so relieved I think I will go ahead and write it.
Yesterday, I had to renew my drivers license after 5 years.  In NC the testing is not easy for renewal and I have been so stressed out the past few days, fearing I would fail the test and not be able to drive, that I worked myself up into a frenzy of emotions. Some of the examiners can be real "a-------" (had one 5 years ago when I just barely passed the test by 1 point) and I was fearful I would get another one.  Wonder of wonders I got the most wonderful female examiner who told me I aced the test and she would see me again in 5 years.  I felt so happy and relieved I wanted to run around to the other side of the desk, and give her a hugh bear hug.  However, I did restrain myself, for fear she would think I was mental, and revoke my license.  Instead, I thanked her and wished her a very good day.
On the way home, I stopped at Arby's and treated myself to a large fish sandwich, fries and large iced tea.  I have high cholesterol, so fried food is forbidden.  However, sometimes you just have to say "what the *********" and go ahead and do something forbidden.
I had forgotten how to enjoy the little things that can bring us such joy for a few moments.
Needless to say, my stress and fear is gone and I have nothing to worry about...........until 5 years from now.
I hope all of you will try to do something a little forbidden in your life that will give you a few moments of joy.  We all deserve it.  Love, Katrina

Fantastic! I like frivolous journals. It reminds me that there can be joy in life. When I was a newly bereaved mom, I felt hopeful that one day I would be able to smile again. Over the past 4 years, I have learned to enjoy life. Of course there is that hole in my heart but i work around it.
I too have high cholesterol and am not very conscientious about diet. I try but like you said, we do need to indulge sometimes! I love Arby\'s curly fries.
Have a great weekend!

What a wonderful journal to read and not one bit frivolous at all! This kind of thing can be very nerve wracking as there always seems to be those \"trick\" questions! :) You were ready and way to go and now you won\'t have to think about that for another five years. :)

Hey, you were very healthy with the choice of the iced tea. I say live it up and enjoy and you could have had a milk shake with it... LOL! :)

I was wondering and hopeful you would let us know so here is your good news and huge exhale.

The sun is shining here today and hope it was where you are living and that you have a gentle weekend filled with all good things.

I\'m sure Jason was cheering you on and I feel as if our children are with us through all of these kinds of life events.

Love and congrats!

Ha - good for you! I have high cholesterol too and there\'s nothing better I like than pie and cream - but fries and a sandwich would work, too!! Congrats on the driving test, that would stress me out too. Joanna x

That is great Katrina!! I will be 68 in May and have got to get all this extra stuff like a birth certificate and a marriage license and something showing that I actually live at my address - stupid, stupid!! I have been getting license in Georgia since I was 16!! So I can easily see how you can worry about your license!! So proud of you!! My husband is actually from North Carolina. We usually go once or twice a year to see his Mom. She will be 94 this year. Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi Katrina! I am so glad for you that you aced that testYAY!!! God provides! As for me, I\'m pretty well reconciled to \"no driving\" now as it\'s been quite a long time. I soon hope to get an electric bike-- that will make hill climbing a bit less arduous!

I second the throwing caution (and calories!) to the wind on occasionwe might as well enjoy it while we can all still taste it, is how I feel! :-) Have a blessed Sunday and thanks be to God for providing a kind examiner this time! Love, Donna

Well I guess I could never move to NC, I doubt I could pass a driving test. All you have to do in Arkansas to renew you drivers license is pass an eye examine....they figure if you can see you can drive.
Big Hugs,
