fresh pot of soup done, yay! my turn to rest now.

Hello Lovebuckets!
When I am frustrated/upset and I can move at all, I find something constructive to do as soon as possible.  After the tears die off, the nose gets blown in that indelicate noisy fashion, after I've stared out the window and wondered how some people can choose to be mean.  I get busy.
I'm not going to go into all the details of what happened, just enough to release the steam.  I had business to handle - the business associates handled me.  One young lady cut me off repeatedly and after the third time I waited.  For her to become silent.  As it was my turn I started to speak, I said 3 words, at word three she cut me off and again began fussing at me.
When she ran out of steam I asked Kwaana if she had any female role models in her life, people she respected or admired?  Did she have any strong connections to a sister, mother, grandmother or aunt?  Did she have any teachers she admired?  Who did she value, who was she kind to?
This time she remained silent.  So did I...... then she said something very important - she muttered "sorry."  Sounded like she was choking on the word.......like it cost her everything to spit out those two small syllables. I gotta tell ya the lack of genuine feeling did not exactly help me warm to her.........but something made her remember her humanity for a second.
For a split second maybe she remembered that we not only need air......but when we communicate we all need breathing room.
I don't understand why she or any of the people I talked to at that company acted the way they did.  I know there are a lot of good young people out there working hard and I know that there are a lot of young people who have a surplus of resentment and think it is ok to mistreat others.  Today I thought it had crossed the line from bad customer service to abuse.

I got the tears out and blew my noisy 'ol pink nose!  Several times. Then I regrouped, only yesterday I committed to more joy this year.......and I am not planning to nosedive because of a difficult afternoon.  I got up, showered and then came in the kitchen and started making soup.
Fueled by leftover agitation/adrenalin I grabbed the tomato red soup pot, chopping block, knife and opened the frig.........started pulling out wee bits of this and that.
A little leftover roast........a handful of fresh baby carrots, a couple of stalks of celery, crisp cabbage.....low sodium broth, pepper.........water, low sodium veggie juice.......green beans, corn, green peas, a small onion.  A little more pepper, kept checking on it, kept stirring........it smells really good by the way!  The frig is looking mighty empty.  But it's enough to manage a few more days or longer if need be!  That big ol pot of soup is gooooooood stuff!
The house smells great, soup is now divvied into containers and sitting in the frig.  Sweet.....out of that frustration I now have the joy of good heart healthy soup for a week.  Alrighty then!  I feel better too......."nobody's gonna break my stride, nobody's gonna slow me down, oh no, i gotta keep on moving".

i don't have to climb a mountain to move........i can be completely still and move.  i can move on, i can move up.  i don't have to feel stuck, i don't have to get caught in a trap of what happened before........i can keep on moving!
Have a doctor appt with a new doctor on Monday early afternoon.  My first time there, I'd better leave bread crumbs so i can find my way home.  Please Lord guide me there and back safe & sound!  I'm nervous.........and hopeful.  Talked to Pharmacist Greg today, new program is now in place - meds will be ready Monday.  yay!   still have 3-4 more pages to complete on the new patient forms packet.  Not looking forward to it, but yes, I'm on it.......I'll have it ready this week-end.
I can feel the physical reaction to the negative emotions from earlier.  It feels like I was in a car wreck.  I thought about hanging up and couldn't bear the thought of having to come back and hold another hour to reach another ill trained knucklehead.  Help me pray for knuckleheads starting with my own KNUCKLEY HEAD first and foremost.  I have my own hardheaded stubbornness that doesn't cotton to eejits.  I am so far from perfect, I make lotsa mistakes........it is wise to kill people with kindness. they really are people as hard as it can be for me to see sometimes.  they have a life......they need help to do better.  knocking people around with imaginary nerf bats is not the solution to everything.  i know it's not, but oh man.........i wanna nerfbat something!  last night i watched an old Charlie Brown Cartoon about the New Year.........good ol Charlie Brown shared his resolution with Peppermint Patty.  He said, "This year I won't dread the whole year, I'll only dread it one day at a time!"  Poor 'ol Charlie Brown.
I have a choice, to dread it one day at a time or to allow joy and light in daily too.
if you are in need of prayer send me a quick pm/note & I'll pray for you this week-end for whatever your need is..................soft hugs, sparrow

First of all, you must know, that I listened to that entire Matthew Wilder song before I finished your journal! I just KNEW that was gonna be the link! I LOVE that song. Always did. Love to sing along, which I did. Fortunately it\'s freezing in Jersey and my windows are closed.

Sorry you ran into an eejit knucklehead! They run rampant around the Country and we only seem to find them when we\'re not in the mood to deal with \"stupid\". You can\'t fix stupid. I have a T-shirt that says so.

Still, you are right. Everybody has their human side, and stroking it a little bit with kindness is always the way to go. You done good Sparrow. The soup sounds good. Glad you almost have your paper work done.

EEJITS! They\'re everywhere. We should just stay inside......just sayin....!

Serce I think you handled this abusive customer service person very Well.
I mean you I believe in reading her silence and support may have touched/reached her and made her \"think\". Good for you..((((Serce)))) for having being treated so hurtfully. I like that you used that energy to make soup for yourself ....nurtured yourself. Your soup sound De-Lish by the way! Haven\'t heard the song yet but will. Have bookmarked it and will catch it later. Wishing you a good night sleeps and a better day tomorrow friend. Love/Greenies/Hugs

Ain\'t nothing gonna break my stride,
Ain\'t nothing gonna slow me down, oh no !
Singing along here and the little bouncy girl has spurred me on, feeling cheerier than I did before I came to your journal, thank you !

Serce, you handled that phone call so well. I don\'t know, either why people are so mean and get carried away with their own importance. Wow!!, that soup sounds great for Winter eating. I always make a big pot of soup each week in Winter - just throw in whatever\'s around so it\'s generally vegetable soup of some description. Hope the appointment with the new doctor goes well. It\'s good, sometimes, to have a different view of things, methinks.
Take care of you, dear Ruthie.

I\'m so sorry u had the frustrating experience... been there, done that... it\'s just not any fun. I hope that ur able to realize that the experience has nothing to do with you.. but when ppl treat you disrespectfully, it has everything to do with them.... One of our slogans in Alanon is \"don\'t take it personally\"... this is so true. I wish u a happy new year my dear friend. I\'ve been wondering about you lately. Hope that ur Christmas was nice to you. Luv and hugs xo Sun

Yes, you did very well!!! I wonder how many years it\'s been since \"Kwaana\" has apologized to anyone for anything? (Especially when the apology is triggered by words of concern and kindness) She definitely doesn\'t deserve pecan pancakes and hash browns, but she\'s probably the kind that needs them the most!

Ah I have learned much in the past few weeks. My welder was particularly grouchy and fussed about every little thing every blasted chance he got. He really wore my patience. Last week I asked him to come back to do some corrective work. He cursed me out royally (including expletives) and refused to return to my home unless I paid him. Boy was I stressed because I really just wanted to return his expletives and then some. Anyhoo forced myself to be pleasant and informed him I would leave him to make a conscience decision. Fortunately he decided to come back and do the corrective work. Then he started fussing at me again .. in the middle of a CRASH! Oh hell no .. I gave him one mean look said \"listen! DO NOT FUSS WITH ME TODAY!\" and that was that for that, he meekly completed his work with never a peep for the rest of the day.

People can be trying and that can be so draining to us because even if you don\'t get into a fuss with them, their negative energy sucks the life out of us. Don\'t let them get to you, you did the right thing, keep on keeping your cool and making what sounds like some fabulous meals.

PS : Hope the docs visit goes well.
