That was helpful. I took my dog to the vet, spent all this money and they couldn't really tell me what is the cause of the issues she's having. Although, there were no parasites in her fecal sample, she did have a high amount of bacteria in it. The vet also did a urinalysis, to try and figure out her urinary issues, and found an elevated amount of glucose and ketones. So, then the vet did a blood test to see if she has diabetes. Nothing there either. It's possible she may have bladder stones. But to check that, they need to do an xray and there really expensive. I just want to know what the hell is wrong with my dog! I'm questioning the vet she saw today. Her usual vet at the clinic was busy so I saw another. I fear she may have missed something. The vet said when she examed her belly she didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. But I can feel and literally see large lumps in her stomach area. She loves belly rubs, so I give her a lot of them, and her belly doesn't feel like normal. Aside from a large bill, I was sent home with some meds and probiotics for the diarrhea. Hopefully, I won't be up all night with her again and she gets better.

I'm sorry you were left with a large bill and no answers. I wish her regular vet had been available. How long have the lumps been on her belly? At approximately nine years old, she's considered an older dog. Lipomas (non-cancerous fat-filled tumors) are very common as dogs age -- a couple of my dogs had them in their later years -- but they are generally slow-growing, so if these large lumps suddenly appeared overnight, it may be something else. Bladder stones can sometimes be felt through the abdomen wall as well, but they wouldn't generally be large. There is a wide range of treatment for bladder stones, assuming she has them. The simplest and least expensive is a special prescription diet specifically formulated to dissolve the crystals, along with antibiotics to treat urinary infections. I wonder if your vet would be willing to try her on the prescription diet, without doing the x-ray. I hope the meds and probiotics help her get better!
I'm so sad to hear you are still struggling with your pup. I have Rocket and he has skin issues for which he takes expensive meds. I would do anything for him! I hope you can find some answers soon
