I usually cook dinner at my house. My Mom lives with me and she is being a pain in the ass right now. My mom cooks sometimes but usually just on Fridays. She usually burns things when she cooks.
Anyway, this morning I told her if she didn't want ham for dinner to thaw something out and I would cook when I get home. I got home and she thawed out chicken tenders and said she wanted stir fry.
I absolutely hate making stir fry, it is the most Dreaded dinner, whether I make it or she makes it. The main reason for this is that neither of us are Asian and both of us have totally different ideas of what stir fry is. I also dread it because she is SUPER picky about textures, even tho she says she isn't. She always complains about the rice and broccoli. Lately Ive been asking her to make rice, but it's weird and awful. She says mine is. She doesn't want seasoning and chicken has to be burnt. I like juicy flavor and I think of stir fry like what I get at restaurants, but my mom doesn't eat asian food so she doesn't know what stir fry is.
I'm dreading eating, no matter what, it will be bad. She already yelled at me for 15 minutes about how to make rice and I argued right back that I was a chef and we didn't make it like she does, neither do my asian friends, and also we have a rice cooker, but she says rice cooker rice is gross, she also refuses to learn to use it.

So mad at Xfinity! They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

The last thing I want to do around someone who is controlling is be judgemental. That just causes far worse problems not to mention making my blood pressure go up. If she acts indecisive about what to have for dinner then I always offer suggestions which I know, in my mind, she can make without screwing up.
I try to be compassionate toward others because I know that life is not easy.. Everyone is fighting a hard battle, especially during this pandemic and the uncertain future that lies ahead for all of us.
God Bless
We usually eat separate things as his tastes are different, lol. He'll make me salmon with baked potato and asparagus (last night) and he'll have something else, either his fried rice, or collards with sausage, etc.
Trying to keep the glass top stove looking nice is a real challenge. Anyone have a secret for keeping their stove looking good?
I absolutely hate glass top stoves so I bought a normal one with burners last year. It was delivered in time to make Christmas dinner. Has a self cleaning oven and if a burner goes out I can easily replace it at my local hardware store. Have to replace the whole glass top on those stoves and wait for parts.
Glass tops only last me maybe 5 years. I suggest when this one craps out, get yourself a nice range with actual burners. Mine is made by GE and only cost around $500
