I just joined this group. I've been writing poetry for many years. Been encouraged several times to put them into a book, but don't know a thing about how to self publish. Guidance by someone who has done it would be appreciated. Thank you.

Get a free account from Createspace, Google it, it is an Amazon company. It is free if you do all the work until you purchase copies of your book.

I've been on Lulu since it was recommended by someone but haven't had the nerve to just put it all out there. I attend writers' groups here and there for encouragement. It's a lot of fun.

You have to start somewhere, right? You can read the database that Writers/Poets magazine has on their website and send poems or other written work to magazines and journals. I have a poetry blogsite where I host works by other writers http://fivewillowsliterarysociety.blogspot.com/

I am an internationally anthologized poet with two books of poems that have won national awards. I also have a small press where I essentially do self-publishing for other writers/poets. I have a master's in literary arts.

I have joined and sponsored these writers groups for years, but the proof is in sending works out and getting published.

    I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital.  I don't think that we will have her much longer.  She is very frail.  Now she needs help eating.  So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying.  I think crying releases toxins into my body.  I also worked up a sweat at the gym...
