Beginning at the first of the year, some Christian Groups decided to put forth the challenge to read the Bible completely through in 2019. We've had checks throughout the year on this.
Several of you signed up for this challenge. How are you getting along with this? If you haven't finished, that's okay ( I haven't either); December isn't over.
LET US KNOW WHERE YOU ARE IN THE BIBLE CHALLENGE; IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED IT OR PLAN TO BY YEAR'S END.
God bless

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

In 2020 I want to read the whole Bible. I have picked out a Bible Reading Plan.
Anyone want to do the challenge with me in 2020? I think it would be a great way to start the new decade out! We could keep each other motivated!
I have read the Bible a number of times and I ALWAYS develop a better understanding .I believe it can NEVER be read enough .
We can do the Bible challenge ,again starting January 1,2020.
Does anyone else want to join us ?
Shadowlady , we will read the Charles Stanley Study Bible that we have .Cool!!!!
I think it does have the points which looks like a little arrow pointing to the text.
I enjoyed the Old Testament. It gives us so much background and so many important prophecies for what's coming in the New Testament. Have you read it Carly? Do you enjoy it?
In the Old Testament God fights for Israel to secure his land for his people.
It is an important part of the Bible .
If you have any questions ask away .
I've read the Old Testament. I enjoy the more historical parts. The genealogies leave me wondering though, because sometimes they are incomplete, and sometimes the language is imprecise (there's a word that means 'decendant' that sometimes means son and sometimes could be used for a grandson,) Also, I think I'd like to spend more time on the minor prophets next time, and maybe on Psalms - and the circumstances of their writing . But who knows, I may or may not end up doing any of that.
Have you read the Old Testament? Do you have insights about it? Questions about it? Problems with it? Or, were you just curious?
I'm with Shadowlady and Smile, happy to talk about anything or hear observations....
