Women who Love too Much Community Group
WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
Sounds like you had some luck Peggs.
Internet dating is totally and utterly terrifying to me (not fear as in, creepy, fear as in the unknown and maybe just 'oh God, I do not want to be here in this Starbucks being polite.'). I admire those who can do it. I need to meet someone face to face with a connection that is there or not.
Do you think it is time really? Consider your marriage followed by another unsatisfying relationship. You have so much to offer but is this really the time?
But you're right, im far from ready for anything new. Plus it wouldnt be fair to anyone since i'm still thinking about fckface. I hate it.
I went on a few dates... all of the men drank a lot... i knew within 3 dates if i liked them or not. one guy called his sister where i worked and had her track me down instead of waiting for me to call that was creepy. i text one guy on the way to the date at applebees that i wouldn't have sex with him until we liked each other, he didnt text back all during the date he looked around the room and at his phone he took one phone call, on the way home he texted me that he just saw my text about not having sex i never heard from him again... a couple time i just talked on the phone explained I wasn't into casual dating cause I knew it meant basically just having sex no commitment (never heard from them), one guy said shh to me cause I talked when he was doing something in his garage, i let that slide, went golfing and out a few times, the last date i went and met his daughter, we met at DQ and I rode on his motorcycle to her inlaws cabin, he critisized my shorts that I had on cause they had a tiny hole and a little paint on them.I went to the cabin but did not see him by my choice after that when he asked why, i didn't get into detail just said i wasn't ready or into him or whatever. one guy got mad cause i didnt answer my phone (i was taking a nap) he left a message if you snooze u loose ... i called and left a message why i didnt answer (never heard from him again) wrote him a letter (old behavior) never heard from him... be honest and true and the icks will fall through the cracks... one guy just got a dui for the 3rd time told me right away... i went on a couple dates... he had to breath into a thing to get his truck to start and was still drinking even though he had classes and would go to jail if he got caught drinking... i ended that he couldn't understand why... i didnt explain just said it wasnt working for me.... these are just a few examples. im not trying to write a book or tell you how to date.... just do it different than the old you, find what works for you.... none of the meetings/greetings worked out for me but i wasnt ready any how, but I learned a lot about what I want by seeing and not doing what I don't want... good luck... if you meet someone awesome then you are more ready than you thought. dont settle... most of the dates I had they would have settled for me just to have someone - anyone- i wasnt and am not ready cause i compare everyone to the jackass i am in love or obsessed with... i don't want to be with someone I like more than they like me or have them like me more than I like them.... so wil just wait for a mutual like that leads to love both sided... : )
The point is: discernment. I lack it right now. I don't have it. I need to gain back my self-confidence (by myself this time, not because a man tells me I'm okay/attractive/amazing/worthy) without getting my ego wrapped up in attracting someone or keeping their attention or even giving them mine.
A BIG UPHILL battle for me and one I feel I am just beginning because this week is honestly the first time that I actually feel single. So now the work begins. Now the challenges are before me. Now the patterns must be changed. The rest was fantasy because I wasn't emotionally 'single'.
