After reading all of your replies, I am feeling like an old widow!.. I was 57 and Jake was 59 when he died.

Just a follow up.
65 people responded with their age at the time they became widowed and at this point the average age of those that responded is 52.138 years old. Does that help? It's just a number isn't it?

July 27,2013, I was 73, he was 74, four months before, four months until our next birthday.

We're quite an assortment, aren't we. I was 63. The pain is incredible and seems to go on forever, but I knew my love for 42 years and was married for almost 38. I can't imagine losing him in my 20's or 30's. My heart goes out to all of you. Prayers & Hugs! Love, Jamie
