Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I was 50, Cliff was 55. I remarried at 53, my new husband is two years younger than me, and he was widowered at 47.
It can happen to anyone at anytime. Just as love and remarriage can happen to anyone at anytime. Not all surprises in life are bad surprises.
Coming here I learned I was not the only one. It seemed that way in my real life because there were no widows in my circle of friends and colleagues, including among those several years older than myself. The understanding and compassion I have found here at DS knows no age boundaries, and I have received just as much wonderful support over the years from young and old, straight or gay, married or engaged or none of the above. Both love and grief are universal.....
I wonder what has triggered this question for you again?? Can we help you with it??
Love and Hugs,
Martha
8 days after our 36th wedding anniversary.
