HI Jamie;

I lost my husband 19 days ago, and just don't know which end is up.I can only think that your mom's health is bringing everything back to square one for you. Yesterday there must have been something in the air because I couldn't stop crying the WHOLE day. That was the first time that had happened to me. Up unitl then, I cry everyday, don't get me wrong, but not one continuous session! I am so sorry you have to go through this next loss. Lean on people here, that is what I have been doing, and it seems to help.

Jamie, I am so sorry for your loss. I don't want to sound like a therapist but I had a similiar but different situtation..my Father had alzheimers(sp?) and about 3 months before he started going down hill fast my Mother was diagnosed with arthritus in her spine. Our goal was to get Mom in the same nursing home as Dad so they could spend some time together. But as Mother was diagnosed with bone cancer (not arthritus, sorry for the spelling) Dad was brought into the ICU. He passed away on May 22 and Mom followed him on Oct. 21 of the same year. Long story short I seen a therapist about 3 months after Mom passed and she said that I had never had proper time to deal with my grief, of losing Dad and then Mom's diagnosis and finally her passing. So trust me I am in now way saying that losing a parent(s) in any way compares to losing your husband I think the sutuation may be the same, maybe you haven't been able to grieve for your husband because you have been dealing with your mother being ill. I hope all this rambling helps in some way. I hope you find peace

Welcome back, Jaime. Nice to hear from you, but wish the reason was one of joy. Loss is painful whether it's a spouse, mom or dad, or a good friend. It is the relationship we develop with them that determines the pain. I am truly sorry you have been going through multiple losses.

I went to vote today at a Catholic Benevalent Hall where my Aunt worked her entire life. I lost her in 2009 followed by my uncle shortly thereafter. I walked in and immediately felt the loss.

Losing our spouse I believe makes us more suspectable to loss whether its our family or someone elses. Take it easy, sweetness. Better days are coming. Wish I could tell you when. Sharon

Thank u for all the kind words. Just so everyone knows I have not lost my mom yet but I am waiting on the phone call any time now. She is very sick but I know when she goes she will no longer be in pain. I will miss her very much when she dies pass away. Again thank u all very much . Big hugs to u all.. love Jaime

You said you "can't help anyone." Well, Girl! You just helped ME by sharing your pain and making me realize that others are in worse situations than I am. My husband died 8 1/2 months ago and I'm feeling better each day. I've even reached a point of some kind of normalcy - a few tears now and then, and a huge hit from the Grief Monster once in awhile - but mostly just moving forward.

Your mom's illness has given you a major setback in your grief process regarding your husband. That just seems so unfair (who said life was fair, huh?)!

Paula's right: just come here and grab a shoulder on which to cry, or an ear to listen, or a hand to help steady you or eyes to cry with you or a heart to sympathize with you. This place is full of those things and we're all ready to support you.
