Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Marie, I understand your pain, but please try to understand that God does not see our lives ending here as a punishment. It is a beginning. At times like this, I find comfort in this thought. I stay as close to God as possible because He alone can dry our tears.
It's been four short months for me. I used to say that my husband was in Heaven while I was still walking through hell. Now, I find that is not true. God has strenthened me, reminding me of the Great Commission: to preach the gospel to all that will hear. It is my purpose for living. We do not have a lot of time to accomplish the saving of souls.
I know there are many in DS who differ in their beliefs. It saddens me, but God gives us free will. It is your choice to make decisions for your life. I'm merely stating my own personal journey, a journey that is sometimes sad, unberable, and depressing, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I realize my suffering is only for a season. Eternity awaits!
It's only been 3 weeks, but my dear hubby was sick for 8 years. I cried and grieved and asked Why many times over those years. So now I have only a dull ache. But I know he's in a much better place, breathing easy as they say in the COPD world. No struggles.
It's tough. I hurt, as we all do. But we will get through this.
Hugs
