I was fortunate like Powellswife that my DH did so much..all the grocery shopping, cooking, yard work, laundry and much more.

Well, I really didn't need to go grocery shopping except for perishables for quite some time as he had QUITE the supply built up! Cooking - I can but I rarely do. Yard work is not my thing -thank heavens I have a wonderful neighbor.

But like Shelley - laundry has been the one chore that continues to escape my radar screen. I can not tell you how many times in the last 9 1/2 months I've gone to the "unmentionables" drawer to see that it was empty. How in the world could a grown woman not realize she just took out the last pair and she should do the laundry???? I guess I haven't grown up yet!

I think I've tackled most of the chores and keep moving along. Can't wait to power wash the driveway - looks to be about as interesting as watching paint dry.

Power washing is actually kinda fun!

I expected that taking out the trash would be at the top of the list and wasn't disappointed in that. And how many of them did the laundry, the shopping, etc? How I loved coming home tired and weary on a cold dark night during tax season to find a nice hot dinner and a loving husband waiting for me!

No offense but some of you ladies were "spoiled"! Your husbands actually cooked AND did laundry????. And grocery shopping!??!! OMG No wonder you miss them! LOL
In our home I was the one who did the spoiling! But he could repair just about anything. I won't mention how much nagging it often took to get him to do that fixing though!
We all have different roads don't we? Interesting how we still share so much in common on this road through grief!!!

Well, I was one of those spoiled one. He did the laundry, cooked, did dishes, shopping, took out the trash, cleaned the kitty litter. However, I worked two jobs and was fortunate that one of those jobs was at home. I must admit, I've never heard of anyone brushing the cat's teeth and that gave me a smile :)

Jim always kept the yard looking wonderful. I have tried but "Frankly Scarlett I just don't give a d---"! Have kept most of the weeds out of the flower beds but the heat (and my neglect to readjust the timing on the underground sprinkling system) killed off a lot of the grass. Oh well, it's already fall so I maybe will deal with it in the spring. The trash.....I do take it out to the curb.......when I remember!! God, I miss that man!!!!!!

He mowed the lawn even though he was on oxygen. I did help him so he wouldn't over do it. Now the neighbors do the front one to keep the neighborhood looking neat. My son did the back yard because it was so tall. Thankfully winter is coming and we always had the driveway plowed.
