Butterflies have significance for me too - for me they symbolize life after what we perceive to be death. The butterfly is the most beautiful manifestation of the same creature

My belief is that God allows our loved ones to reach out to us...your butterfly story is a great example of that. I had it with a Blue Jay with my dad (it was my HS mascot) and in music with me husband (he was a musician). I look as gifts from God and our loved one.

What a beautiful time you had to of had with the butterfly...I deeply believe that God allows our loved ones to show up to us in forms special to us. My husband loved to watch the birds and his favorite color was blue. So short time after he passed a small blue bird appeared ,we had never seen one before. The next day as I was taking a picture there were 2 and my son said Mom I think they are Dad and James( our son who was stillborn in 1987). We saw them for about 4 days and they left. Then a month later a beautiful blue butterfly appeared 2 weeks ago and only stayed on the fence for about 1/2 an hour. My daughter got a few pictures.
I look for special signs.

What a lovely thing to happen...these are the moments that help heal....

I have been a bird watcher for years and one of my favorites is the Cardinal. My husband planted quite a few bushes bearing fruit to create a more natural habitat for our feathered friends. His most prized are the blueberry bushes. This year they have produced an abundance of fruit. I picked some for myself and left the rest for the birds to enjoy. In years past I would see mostly Robins eating the berries. This year for the first time I can ever remember, one male Cardinal has feasted on the berries. I believe it could be my husband visiting me while enjoying his prized blueberries! Yesterday evening there was a gorgeous sunset and there sat the Cardinal on his prized blueberry bush, singing his beautiful song.

I love this post! Thanks for sharing. My daughters had a dance recital 3 weeks ago. We were backstage in the dressing room when a giant butterfly flew in and landed on the light above. It stayed on that light looking down at us for over 2 hours. The girls and I knew right away it was daddy. And we quietly smirked at each other as all the other moms and dancers talked about how weird it was that a butterfly made it's way into this room. We knew he would never have missed this event.

What a blessing! Saw the butterfly sign when my sister passed (she adored butterflies) and it was all over her second daughter. They were so much alike they argued a lot. They grew close during her second round of chemo and I believe she was letting her know I love you and everything is okay.

Cardinals are also signs of loved ones visiting us. We usually have several but one morning not long after Wayne left a male was at the feeder but not eating and a female was on the ground next to our picnic table. The male kept watching me and the female watched me and the male. I carried on quite a conversation with them. Finally, the female flew to the male then they left.

Thank you all, I have been a bit upset that I no longer dream-no dreams at all not even of Wayne. I now realize I have been blessed with so many signs that I don't need the dreams. God bless you all-Jewley
