I had just finished upgrading my home inside & out now when I look at pictures I realize what a jewel I had my husband made it perfect for me up until he got sick & died. I'm ok with this house still things to fix up only now I have to pay people to get things done. Im in Mn and plan on being a snowbird to escape the winters its just not the same without our spouse. Think it over & just do what you need to do for yourself to move on. Memories will always be with you if you sell or not. I keep my pictures & memories in the best spot ever in my heart.

Do you have a place you want to Go? We celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary a couple months before he was diagnosed. Took me a while not to know something was wrong. Wish you the best in what you decide. Sharon
For me, looking around the house to see everything that was done jointly/decided together without him there was very, very hard. And I think there is something in the subconscience that feels jarring when you see a familiar scene but the oerson you expect to see in it is not there. I couldn't change everything in the house all at once, that would have been silly and also hard on our kids, but I did redo our room so that it became "my" room instead of "our" room, and that helped a lot. I finally had a place that was a respite from all the reminders of my loss.
My advice would be to chose a room and redo it for your own comfort, and also to take a vacation to literally 'get away from it all' if you feel the need. I think you will probably find after you get home that you still prefer it there, but I could be wrong.
Never make such a big decision without trying things out first. I did an exploratory trip in the first year after Cliff died, and it was pretty disastrous. I wasn't ready. You might be, I couldn't tell you, but give youself some wiggle room before you do anything major.
Hope this helps....
