I was sent this the other day by my best friend, also a widow. Not sure who the author was, but I do want to share1

I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with you

And then I realized....You spent the rest of your life with me

I smile because I know you loved me till the day you went away

And will keep loving me....till the day we're together again

Our vows were till death do us part. She held up her end of the bargain. I know it was tough for her putting up with my baggage but she stuck with it. I was blessed.

Your post helped me get up and take care of a couple of things I had not taken care of because I just couldn't find the strength. I hadn't seen this perspective. I was fortunate that this wonderful man did love me until the day he had to go, and I found comfort in remembering he had.
