- thanks im glad im in the statistical pool of the most common things that can occur. I feel better already. Omg.
10. Well, at least you have your kids.
Why do people say this one? I love them but they do not at all fulfill the role of a spouse or partner. Plus, mine are adults and have their own lives! I hate when people say that. As if im to be okay loosing one life in exchange for another.
The next day his brother calls and asks what im doing with his motorcycle. As if im prepared to answer these questions. He then reminds me that I Surely cannot ride his motorcycle and he can take it off my hands. . Really? I dont think I need to be reminded of anything seeing how Im presently living it!
Why are you so upset ? You Will see him again! You act like you will never see him again. Just be happy you met him and spent time with him.
--ummm i want him now. Not 40yrs from now! I want what we had here...in this life!
"You still have his memories."
"He's in a better place, walking on streets of gold."
I had to move what was left of the tools to my storage unit because so many people were casing out my garage. One brother wanted his clothing after I had donated the majority of it to Goodwill (How can you wear the clothing of the deceased? Not for me.) So many offers of help and "call if you need anything." When you ask, they are too busy, so you quit asking and hire it done or do it yourself. Oh, and his truck. I ended up getting ripped off on that, big time. So much was supposedly wrong with it until after the sale, and then it was running like a top! What a miracle, huh?!? Plus the man took most of it as a trade-off for work on my other vehicles, and charged outrageously for labor. I ended up with $600 cash for a Toyota Tacoma. Leah, you definitely got me going....
"You have to be strong for your boys now." Like I didn't know that. And conversely and just as perversely, telling my sons to "be strong for your mother" and really screwing their heads up, like they weren't supposed to grieve.
I know exactly how you feel. My father died 2 years ago.
3 weeks after my husband died, at a family Christmas dinner that I was guilted into attending, My Aunt: I am so sorry "W" brought up Tony. (he included him in a prayer before dinner). Was that too hard for you? (No. What was too hard for me was no one else mentioning his name or anything about his death and acting super happy and giving me gifts like glittery sparkly "date night' sweaters).
