I always cooked the big dinner and on The day before I made all the ordervies and Wayne would smaple all of them.

it is just another day of hell with just a little torture on top.

I was doing okay until it came to our traditional "each person tells the others for what he/she is thankful." My daughter tried to by-pass it this year by suggesting saying grace, but my 5-year-old granddaughter insisted on the tradition. So it started - thankful for family, health, etc. Then, it came to my son-in-law, who was very close to Darrell and whom I had asked to sit in Darrell's chair, this year, at the head of the table. He said, "I'm thankful for having Darrell in my life." I lost it! Only for a few seconds, though. That was my only breakdown, until now.
Thinking about all the people here who are trying so bravely to make it through the holidays as only half a person...breaks my already-broken heart. Just seems too cruel.
Mostly, I find that, if I think positively, positive things happen. Sometimes, however, the sad stuff creeps in and tears follow. It's all a part of my new life - and, for the most part, life is good.
May you each find peace in the quiet of your own thoughts...
Hugs,
Terry
