Ouch! I know how you feel. had a blood vessel break in my eye. I was in the shower and actually heard a pop. It felt like my eye popped out, so I kept it closed! I wake up wayyyy early and didn't want to bother anyone! I got dressed and by that time my Dr. Who opens at 8am took me (I drove with one eye still closed)! Everyone in his office came to look at my eye, after he assured me that it wasn't going to pop out!!! At least I have the notoriety of according to the Dr. And later the opthomologist as being the worse one they ever saw!!! It takes a long time to dissipate.

You have one up on me with the bugs and werewolf Tru. Yeah, you have to laugh!!!

let's just hope the bug isn't a tranfroming bug that can turn into a werewolf........it could happen/

Hope by now the bug is history and your eye is better..........and you are so right...sometimes you just HAVE to laugh at the absurdity of it all............L

The bug was history this morning. I got up and saw him lying on one of my glue traps. He was the only one, so my thinking is that's it. Then I went downstairs two hours later, all dressed to throw him out, and you guessed it, he was gone. It looks like the same one I've chased three times. The darn thing is fast.

Orkin came out later and said they couldn't spray with the bird in the house. I'd informed them of the bird when I called and made an appointment. They'd said that they could do non-spraying things. Anyhow, I'd already purchased the glue traps and that's all he had too. So he put those down and didn't charge me. He was so nice. He even threw my microwave out for me. I was afraid the bug was living in there and he confirmed this possibility. He said the bug couldn't get in the cooking part, but as I'd seen him run behind the microwave and dissappear, he could definetly be in there. If so, it means I'm bug free. Still, I've got Orkin coming back next week to spray. I plan to board the bird.

Which brings me to this. I called the bird boarder, which is a vet, and they told me they have to run test to make sure the bird is healthy. Makes sense because birds carry contagious things. Here's the problem--the test run almost two hundred dollars. Way to expensive for me, so I'm going to take him to my father's and just keep the dog away.

hope your eye gets better fast, don't think I've ever had a broke blood vessel in my eye but have had them in my fingers....

In NC we get what the locals tell me they call them palmetto bugs but to me, they are cockroaches...scare the living daylights out of me.... great big, huge things scurrying around....yuck......

In Florida, there are more than one kind of cockroach, and you have to be fairly vigilant about spraying and such. We had the giant ones - the Palmetto bugs - and they were so big (and gross) that Cliff always said they should be called "Palmetto Americans" because if they got any bigger they were going to demand voting rights.

I think they were trying to rip you off about the bird tests. That really doesn't sound right...

Hope your eye heals quickly. Did they say what caused it? Is it related to your blood pressure issues? I hope you're feeling a little better.

I'm sorry you are facing so many things at once. The eye...ouch..I hope it gets better soon. The bug thing...we have lots of different ones in Vermont each summer, and some are so gross, but I hear nothing compared to the ones down south. As long as they aren't spiders, I'm okay with them. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.

I'm glad you are keeping your sense of humor.

Maybe you can send Orkin out my way. I saw two mice (mom and baby) running around my hedges Saturday. My nephew was running after them with a rake. I stood there frozen. I went out an bought two traps and had my nephew set them up for me. No signs yet of any mice. Maybe then ran into my neighbors yard. I hope I hope.

Sorry about the eye problem, hope it is doing great by now. Thank goodness eyes usually heal faster than some other parts of the body!

As far as the bug ~~ I hate bugs and mice!! Bugs do not bother me as much as mice!! LOL BUT, I don't want either!! I have a pest control service that comes out once a month ~~ mainly for those two little pests. Joe isn't here to be the "great white hunter" and set traps ~~ if a mouse gets in, and I absolutely HATE those little mice!! I've had the glue traps and other type traps too ~~ and I really do NOT like setting them!! Thank goodness ~~ since I've started the pest service, I haven't seen or heard any mice, nor seen any bugs.

Now, the vampire, well, ok, you're right, we have to laugh sometimes at all the crazy things in our lives. (I haven't read any of the vampire books, but, I have watched, and own, the movies of the Twilight series~LOL).
