I find myself looking and saying ewwwwwww....because no one I see can even compare in my eyes and heart to my husband......ad I truly can't envision myself with some else....

I know what you mean Morgal. My hubs was a boxer, and Marine. Then did physical labor, his last job was loading cases of pop 8-12 hours a day. His weight never moved more than 5lbs( seasonal) in 21 yrs. Dimples and and upturned nose with a sculpted 6 pack at 53 yrs. God , how did he fall in love with me? My bronze Mayan descent hubs.
Like I said about us rating, it took a lot to rate above a 5 in comparison...she says with a smile.

What a great read... I've been a widower for almost 3 months and I see all these women (it's summer) in shorts and very skimpy tops
and I wonder... ... Should I be looking? Heck I'm 74 years old and was married for almost 55 of those years... Ain't no one gonna compare to my late wife.... I think... Who Knows? maybe some day if I live long enought

Mine was amazing too at 58, tall, blond, green eyes, a beautiful smile and maintained 180lbs. So I think I would have a hard time too finding anyone even close to how hot he was !!! That smile did it for me, didn't need anything else, just that smile. Miss that immensely !!!
But still checking out the eye candy, guess that means I'm still alive too. lol !!!

I ran into someone I grew up with years ago and he flirted with me! I was so shocked, haven't thought about such in over 30 years. You are right, we are all alive, but hard to see what is in our future or even be interested at this point. I really don't want to be alone the rest of my life though.

Vern and I both enjoyed viewing eyecandy...mostly because we both knew it was just that...viewing. It's closing in on l-1/2 years now and I'm finding that I haven't changed (and he wouldn't want me to!). I don't want another man mucking up my life right now (when you've had the best, to hell with the rest, eh?) but I still enjoy a lovely sight when I see one and don't feel guilty about it any more.

Relax...enjoy your sightseeing...as Vern told me night before last just before I slipped off to sleep - "You must go on with your life. I'm not coming back no matter how we both want that. Although I haven't really gotten to the point yet where I can see myself with someone else, I still feel married actually, I guess somehow I feel like I can't imagine what any other man would want with me. My husband always treated me like I was the most beautiful thing in the world and loved me no matter what--from the time I was 14 til his passing after almost 40 years of marriage--and I guess I got used to that security. When I look at myself now I think ugh lol. I'm told at 60 I don't look my age at all--but I've certainly gained weight over the years and just don't feel attractive in the least--so maybe that's why I haven't really given much thought to another relationship. I do find myself thinking it would be nice to have someone to go out to dinner with or go to a movie with but I just haven't been able to picture myself with another man in a relationship. But, that being said, and after reading some of the posts here, I have to agree that I would be inclined to think having teeth (and clean ones) and not having untrimmed hair growing out of every wrinkle would be an important pre-requisite to my noticing a man LOL. Maybe I will get to the "looking" stage someday--who knows--but I've certainly enjoyed reading the replies here--at least most still have a sense of humor. :-)

I don't care about the Greek God look, I want someone who knows who he is and is comfortable in his own skin. I want someone with a sense of humor and knows how to treat a woman as a partner and best friend. I want him to be there for me no matter what and to take my breath away! I had that, and as Paul Newman used to say, Why have hamburger when you have steak at home?? lol
