"One more day, one more hour, one more sunset baby I'd be satisifed, but then again, I know what it would do, leave me wishin still for one more day with you."
If it helps, I do feel that I am getting closer to my husband now the further I am away from the actual trauma of what happened.....we were so frightened and under stress....and now I am thinking that I am kinda getting to go back in some areas unconsciously to our love and the good stuff.....I hug things of his and try to write directly to him but I do it on note paper...and in my mind or I say it out loud when i am thinking of him....I love him so much...I was scared I would start forgetting him....this is not going to happen...especially if he keeps hanging out with me in some of my dreams ;)
Surely we wouldn't forget them, but I'm scared of almost everything (except death) right now.
I have contact and dreams, too. they may be what is keeping me going. I even sleep pretty well, I think because he is with me at night.

I found the farther away I was able to remember some really good fun memories clearer...still sad I can not have more but happier I can remember those...

For me it is 2 month 8 days and i relive the last time we were together in my mind every day, I dont want to forget a single thing about our life together
One of my DS friends recently made me realise that it would never happen as I have so many wonderful memories that can never be erased
I have started a photo album of our life together starting with our wedding and with every photo that goes in more and more memories emerge some make me cry , some make me smile and some even make me laugh (Thanks for that Tom)
Hope you manage to find something that will help you realise you will always be together in your heart
Sending you Hugs

I understand your fear of getting farther away, but you will begin to remember more of your life together as time goes by, not less.
Hugs, Gwen
I can echo what the others have said - you won't forget, but with the passage of time the good memories come to the fore and the bad ones tend to fade away and become less important. And also, Cliff still shows up in my dreams, even after all this time - it will be 5 years in November for me.
Don't be frightened, you will be okay.
Love and Hugs,
Martha
