Remember when?????

For those who are been here and those who are new here I was here many years ago.   I came after the death of my husband.  Lived through the hell of grief and thanks to those who remember me I owe you so very much.   You were my earthly angels (as my friend Gerry described it) . 


I met Gerry last night on another site and had the desire to reconnect with Daily strength .  If you noticed there's a CL on my photo.  The letters were for Community  Leaders.  That's what we were called when we were healed enough to focus the giving others the support I had received.   Some of you here are the angels who gave me the strength to live rather than suffer.  This was prior to meeting Sharecare and after.   My life has greatly changed and I will share my life with my new friends  and past friends here.  I hope to get to know you better.   Sharon

I joined this site after the loss of my husband in 2010. It is hard for me to believe that it is now ten years later. Never did I believe for one moment that I could survive without my John, but here I am. I was never one to post many comments, but I always found comfort by visiting this site, no matter the time of day or night, and knowing that I was not alone in my thoughts and feelings. I am so sorry that there doesn't seem to be much activity these days due to the change from the "old" DS. I know that there are widows and widowers out there that need the support that I have experienced here and hope that this site has more activity in the future. Thanks for offering yours. Roxanne

I appreciate your thoughts. I was here when my husband died and was very active. When Sharecare came the DS site was struggling with their own problems and Sharecare helped. Some would say I'm wrong, but I fear it could have been worse. Keep in touch.

Hi Sharon: When I lost my husband in 2015, you and others on this site were life savers. By reading posts and sharing my feelings I learned that I could actually survive what I thought I did not want to survive. I still miss that man but my life is good and I am able to live a very full life. The pain has subsided greatly and I can think of him with smiles most of the time. I was checking in to see how others were doing these days. Tough times for all of us. Hope you are well. Take care , Marybeth

I remember you from then. It's so great to hear that you are doing well. I've been gone a while, but thankfully I I a back where I began after my husband's death. Like you, I thought my hope for the future was doomed. Looking forward to reconnecting with everyone.

Hello Sharon I remember you from my time here and like you this site helped me greatly ,sorry to say after I made the big move to Australia I didnt really come back .Now that I'm dealing Wendy dying from cancer the same feeling are here again and I also feel like crap that I wasnt here for others . Its good to see you Sharon Scott

When we are dealing with this tragedy we need support making it do to not dwell on it. You have nothing to feel bad about. Sharing your sadness is just as important as concentrating on others. sadness. I came to this site in 2007 and I was a mess. I never lived alone before and I was terrified. I learned so much here and gained hope that the future.

Hi Sharon. DS was my lifeline after my husband Martin's death in 2014 and you were a big part of that.
I'm doing well now, finally have my spark back.

I lost my husband in 2014 also. Thought I was doing better but some extreme health problems have me longing for him for support and comfort. I did that for him for 5 years. Just so hard this loneliness has lasted a decade. This forced isolation doesn’t help either. I so wish he were here to have some physical contact and because I’m still in love with him.

    Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...
