My husband died on 5/5/19 after 38 years of marriage. He was diagnosed with liver cancer in October 2018. My husband and I never had any children so his passing makes it especially lonely for me. Also, I lost my sister in 2017 and my mother in 2015. These three people were the closest to me. I feel more alone than ever. Everyone has went back to their lives and have stopped calling me to do things. My aunt and my best friend call me every day or every other to check on me. My brother usually calls once a week. In the beginning everyone was calling and asking me to do things, now that has slowed down. I need to find friends who understand my grief. Would love to connect with a group that I can do things with and be there to support each other.

You can google Griefshare. They run groups usually out of a church. People there asked me to join other widow’s groups they were in. It might help!

I understand how you feel...I lost my husband in April 2016 and I am still trying to find my way...I started to volunteer and that has helped me to think about something other than loss and sadness, I adopted a little dog and she is a joy and
I have her and my other dog to take care of...not just myself,,Our lives have forever changed and so have we to try to move forward one day at a time.....Hugs Sister in Grief

I understand how you feel. I lost my 22 year old son due to an un-diagnosed heart defect during the Christmas holidays in 2017, my son-in-law to suicide in April of this year and my beloved wife in September of 2019. These losses for me were especially devastating. Although, we process grief differently, it is good that we have DS to share our feelings. Hugs to you.

Hello,
I can really relate to your post. I recently lost my fiancé and we had no children either which makes for a very lonely house.
I found the first month I had lots of people around and phone calls and now I hardly hear from anybody. My family were really supportive for the first month and then pretty much nothing after that. It makes me miss my partner even more as we were always there for each other.

For local grief groups, you can contact your local hospice - they are a good resource for that. For social-oriented groups, you can try checking on meetup.com to see if there are any groups with similar interests. Sometimes you can find local widow/widower groups that way, too. Here's a link:
