Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have been having a hard time of it lately with my eldest daughter shes in a bad place right now and is going to sell everything and move to the other side of the country and leave her 16 and 11 year old with their Father. My heart was broken earlier but then i started thinking maybe its a sign who knows, for me to move back to the other side of the country where all my family lives where i was born i have been here for almost 29 years..so my mind is racing today..have been trying to focus and think Better thoughts.. But i made a commitment to wait till spring or next year to myself to stay here ,mainly because of my adult children...they would prefer not to speak about him though which hurts me but i have to shut up more ,as i only see them on holidays its not too hard...i may be wrong to stay here in this city but i think for now its my right choice. One thing about life it slows down for no one. I am not going to allow her in my head as much as there is nothing i can do but pray that she misses me already too :)

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

Love and Hugs,
Martha
Life is a journey and we can't skip to the last page. Although it is difficult, try to forget the bad and focus on the good memories. We set the example for our children to learn how to deal with loss. In my case I lost my mother 5 months before my wife and believe me, it's easier to with your children than 3 sisters. Say positive and dismiss the negatives. Good luck.
