Today was a really up and down day. I was working on a really big "project" that Shane and I would have done together. It is an "outdoor" project and I was interrupted by several hours of rain... oh yeah... and SNAKES. I am terrified of snakes... and it does not matter how big or small or what kind... To me, they are all 30 foot Anacondas sent from hell.

I am actually pretty proud of myself for my ingenuity and creativeness with the new project, and I really think that Shane is watching and smiling at me. When I get it finished I will post some pictures.

Amazing! I can't seem to motivate myself to mow my lawn and weed the flower beds. Do either of you hire out?

wow... congrats... cant wait for pictures.. such as yourself I've had to tackle things I never thought I could do on my own.. Example, mowing almost 4 acres, with fibromyalgia, and bad arthritis...then trying to get some things fixed, while trying to sell our 55 chevy. Changing the oil on my riding lawn mower, for the first time ever..check.. done..

Its amazing how we can do things, we never thought we could do before, so our husbands/wives, are helping us, guiding us, wrapping their arms around us, as we figure out this thing called "Life" without them. hugs carla

It was hectic... and I ended up only managing about 3.5 hours where I had thought I would do all day. Something came up and I had to watch my granddaughter... But I got A LOT done for just that small amount of time. I did get a pic posted... I will get some closer up pics soon... but it is turning out awesome... I remembered to snap a pic as I was leaving.. I am very impressed with the progress, and this is much easier than I had anticipated. I did run into a couple of timbers that seemed to be slightly bowed... didn't notice until I had them on and there was the tiniest gap near the end, but that will not be too difficult to remedy, and is barely noticeable... possibly just a bit of exterior wood filler.

    Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...
