I came home to a mess this past Monday. Came home from work, put up the garage door, and find the floor pooled with fabric softener. Seems a bottle fell on the floor, the cap broke and the rest is history.

Took me almost an hour with the hose to blast the mess downstream.

The bright side? The garage now smells heavenly.

Hey you got to have a sense of humor. Had to get antifreeze for air conditioner in my car. Now the check engine light came on.........
I used to go crazy what am I going to do, now it is OK what's next???

When I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago, I came out of the grocery store and someone hit my mini van ad drove off after they put a nice dent in the bumper. The upside of the deal? My brother can pop out the dent and I got $750.00 from my insurance company and all I have to do is by a bottle of touch up paint that costs $20. So my daughter, she got some really nice school cloths out of the deal and I have one less thing to worry about how am I going to pay for this?

Smiled at your "pun. By the way, after you figure out and fix your plumbing problem, could you stop by and help me pull the bathroom stool. Grandson Alex threw something....I think it is a red plastic toy since it is missing......into my guest bath potty and it is stopped up. If it isn't one thing it's another. Gotta smile......I think my neighbors are tired of hearing me crying and ranting : ) !!!!

Tim, when you said "whack it with a mallet" it reminded me of the old copying machine we had at work a long time ago. If it wouldn't work right, I'd kick it just right and usually it started running! Everybody would call me to come do the kick.

Hope the mallet works and it's not a costly repair.

The "whack it with a mallet" approach was usually the most practiced at my house, often followed by the "chunk it across the yard" which unfortunately, generally wasn't successful. Now days, I seem to take the "pull my hair out and cry" approach.
Thank you for reminding me to look at problems a little more lightly.

I know what you mean - I got the mail today and opened my water bill. It is pretty much the same every month - within a couple of dollars. Last year, about the same time, it doubled one month and then went up again the following month. We had the water company come out and check it - no leaks at the meter but the meter was spinning like water was running. A leak - in the pipe underground between the meter and the house - our responsibility not the water company.
Well, guess what - water bill today was double what it was last month. Called the water company - guy came out and checked it. Same thing - no leak at the meter, but the meter was spinning. Another leak in the ancient pipes underground. Soooooooooo....plumber will be coming out to find the leak - did up the yard and fix the pipe !! Woo Hoo.....what a way to start the weekend !!!

So, Tim - mine didn't really start out "crappy"............ but things did spring a leak !!! Glad we're all here to share - and you're right a sense of humor is so very important !!

Woo hoo! The valve was just stuck. I didn't even have to break out Thor's Hammer. I just had to shake the unit a little bit, and it now functions like it should. Daninmn gave me some good advice. I need to clean the thing out more often to help prevent problems later on.

This was enough to make me change my mood to good tonight. Feel like I dodged a bullet, so to speak. I celebrated by making fire, and grilling meat (caveman grunts). Now to quiz the kid (18 year old) to see what the heck he has been flushing... Maybe I don't want to know.
