So sorry for your loss. You have come to the right place, I am new here too, just a couple weeks???? I lost my husband to a heart attack Nov. 10th 2013 and I am having a very hard time also but the friends here are very supportive and caring and let you say what you need with no judging you. It is what it is for each person and this site lets you tlk, vent, ask questions, listen to others stories of heartache and how they are dealing or dealt with this terrible journey. It is not a group we asked to join but fate has us all here to help each other through.

I am so sorry for your loss and hope you will find some help at this site. I lost my husband in March 2013 (10 months tomorrow), and it is so very hard. One of the worst things is no longer being a part of the "whole" that was us. Now it is as if part of me is missing. . . and it is. It's lonely, and scary, and sad beyond words.

But I read the posts here constantly, and that does help. As you said, those who haven't gone through it can't possibly understand I hope you will also continue to find some degree of solace here.

I am glad you found this site too, it certainly has helped me out so very much. When you feel like venting, you can. If you just want to read what others have to say, you can. You can be yourself, and people really care. I have only been here since Nov, but my husband passed away in July. I have been to a grief support group once, only to meet the other people. I feel so comfortable here, at my own house. It is unfortunate that we all know what each of us is going through. I just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Take good care...Patricia

I'm coming up on 10 months. This place has been very helpful for me. I also did the cancer thing. About 22 months from diagnosis to death. I never in my wildest dreams would've have imagined what the reality is like.
I am sorry you have gone through this. I am pretty confident you will find some comfort here.

ABSOLUTELY! I joined this site a few days ago and thought it was where people came and told their sob story then left but i'm starting to find it really helpful. Your pain is individual but the process seems the same for everyone. Take it easy :) I find releasing control helps, don't try and think your way through it, just feel what you feel, cry and keep moving

I'm glad you came here. I've only been here about a week or so and I've found it to be great help. People just don't get it and it's nice to be in a place where others do. I lost my husband in October, six months after his cancer diagnosis. It's been very hard as well. Hope you find some great support here. I've also began to find that it's easy to write a journal entry here. Every other time, I'd attempt but get overwhelmed. It's nice. Big hug.

I totally understand and love this site for the same reasons. Cancer took my hubby but it took 6 years. I can't imagine 98 days, so sorry. I stay busy, we have a business, there are grandkids, house and animals to care for. God bless.

Just like everyone else said you have came to the right place. I have been here for a few months now. My husband died July 22/13. I do have other support systems; counselor, my family, IL, and good friends. They do help a lot. I can come to this site and get help from people that have an understanding of what I am going through.
It will almost be 6 months since he passed. The grief does lessen. So you will have some good days and some bad days. You will get through this.

Welcome! My husband passed Aug 21st after a 12 year illness with COPD. I was never ready for reality or death. It has been a painful journey but it is getting better thanks to this group and being able to read how others have managed to do it. I have my faith in God and it helps. It's just so cold and lonely in the winter. Cant wait until spring. Shiloah

I know exactly what you mean. I came in weeks ago. It's been 8 weeks since I lost my sweetie. I was struck by how much pain is out there. There always was of course but until we experience this we are unaware. I have lost very close people, my mother, my grandmother, dear aunts and uncles but until you lose the love of your life that's what you realize what hell on earth is really like. I feel like I have been cut in half and my half doesn't know what to do.

this site is wonderful. I did not find it until around a year later now i am over 2 years after losing my husband to cancer. It was over 2 years from diagnosis and I can say we no, we could never ever imagine such pain and emptiness. I hate the thought of anyone going through it. Support is wonderful from people that understand

So glad you found this site. It will definitely help you. I lost my husband to a heart attack in April and I was lucky enough to find this site shortly after. It's good to know that you are not alone and you can write whatever you want and everyone here "gets it". Please take care of yourself......as others have written, cry, vent, talk, scream but take care of you. Keep taking those walks that are so good for your mind and soul. Welcome, what's nicest is that so many from different part of the world are here. Somewhere it's always time to share a cup of coffee and some chat. I might just make some Chocolate cake to go with it...bonus it helps heat up the kitchen!

From diagnosis to when my wife passed from cancer was 6 months. You are definitely not alone. This site and the incredible people on it have helped me so much and they will do the same for you. I am truly sorry for your loss and encourage you to post as often as you need to. God bless. Gerald

I am sorry for your loss yet welcome you to our group. I came here a few months after my husband died in 2007 from lung cancer. He passed 10 weeks after diagnosis. I found so much help here and understanding I remained with my friends cliffskat (Martha) and marjoe (Marsha) as co-community leaders. We have the blue box with CL in it so you know who we are.
My sweetheart of 40 years married who began dating me in high school will be gone 7 years in June. I went through the emotions you are dealing with and found something I never expected. I found myself in love again with a wonderful man who has been part of my life for just about 3 years. There's hope for you that you will be able to get past this painful and lonely time. I know it seems unlikely for us in the midst of grief, but my motto was and is 'even on the days you only see clouds, the sun still shines. It's just hidden from our view.'
