I let another lady move in with me. No marriage with this one though. I think she'll help with my all aloneness. She's kinda young at only 8 weeks old. Australian Shepherd and Healer mix. The farm girls I bought her from said she was a "cow dog". Odd, she looks more like a puppy than a cow to me. My last dog was pit bull that died of cancer about 5 years ago. Said I'd never get another dog because it was too hard to put him down. I had no clue what hard really was. Good news is that we've bonded already. Went shopping carrying her on the back of my neck in my Hoodie. What a chick magnet she has already proven herself to be! I know, Oink Oink. That's it ..... I might just name her "Oinky". She ain't no cow dog. She's a "Pig's Dog"!!!!! God bless and comfort us all. ~~~ Scottie

Man, at first, I thought you had taken another plunge and had quickly forgotten the results of the last time you had a woman move in with you. No doubt, this time, it will work out just fine. Dogs are such wonderful companions - so glad you have a new lady in your life!

Mysweetie2, no, just no - that is a baaad idea.
Hope you find lots of good moments with your new tenant.
Blue goes everywhere I go, and I want it that way. I took her to work with me at the food bank. Set up a bed for her right next to my chair in our warehouse office. She did great, slept most of the day. I couldn't stand to leave Blue alone at home all day, so she promised to be good at work and she was. And she loves to climb up my chest and ride on the back of my neck in the Miata. Train 'em young. I've carried her in the hood of my hoodie in stores, push her around in grocery carts at Home Depot, Lowe's, Safeway, Walmart, wherever I go she's with me. Wears her out, but that's good. She slept with me in my bed last night and I introduced her to laying on the floor in front of the crackling fire in the fireplace. I'm loving it. Now, I have no reason to talk to myself. I say the same things only now I talk to Blue. Much more respectable. And it seems everyone that meets Blue knows all about the cow dog breeds of Australian Shepherd, Red Healer, and Blue Healer. I never even heard of the breeds until yesterday. I've learned that they chop off their tails because the cattle can step on their tails and they they get stomped to death. And I'm telling you, Blue is stuck to me like glue. So like I said, it's all about distraction. My distraction is life with Blue. Your distraction is reading about my nonsensical adventures with a dog named Blue. Whatever works and gets us through to tomorrow is one day closer to finding the end to this journey called grief. Rock On! ~~~~ Scottie

When we got back to the office, I had 3 women mad at me. My 2 co-workers and Blue. And I could tell poor little Blue was really mad at me. Never saw a dog stay mad that long. So I started to love on her, but being the woman she is, she wasn't going to let me off that easy. So I decided to treat her really nice and picked her up off of her bed on the floor next to my chair and put her up on top of my desk. Within 10 seconds, she peed all over my desk. Peny and Theresa thought that was hysterical. So did the whole work crew when they went and told them. So I guess Blue taught me my first lesson and but good. Blue one, Scott 0. She's a woman through and through! I must admit that puppy love is better than no love :) ~~~ Scottie
