One day at a time, friend Denis. You are allowed to be as happy as you possibly can be, on days that I feel I am not up to socializing, I go out anyway, and focus on seeing to it that others are happy to be in my company - it works. We all get a good time, and that I think is good and wholesome.

I have decided Jack would not want me sad all the time so I am just going to go with the flow . If I am sad I will cry and be down in the dumps if happy I will be singing and laughing. Deal with me as I am today.

I thoroughly understand, and can relate. I continue to be DH's wife, and in my heart we remain married. Don't believe in til death do we part - never did. When you can always feel that loved one with you, there remains a spiritual connection.

So, like you, I am now just ME, and a sister, aunt, good friend. In a comfortable position.

In all honesty, I don't really care if my husband would have kicked my butt. #1, he wouldn't get that far, and #2, he would first need to put himself in my place, feel what I feel, suffer how I've suffered, miss what I miss. I'm sure after doing that, DH would do anything other than kick my butt.

I think there comes a time when you can shake yourself free and think exactly that.

And it feels good when you can truly say this is what they would want for you.
