Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Hey, it's tough to lose a loved one suddenly like that. I know that you think that you might have been able to do something that would have prevented his passing. It's really an illusion, IMO.
My best friend had his wife in the ICU and she had a heart attack and died. Even with the best counter measures sometimes it will not change the result.
You did the best that you could - he knows that. These things are beyond our control, really.
No matter how you lose your loved one you will have trouble sleeping. Just survive today, that is all.
Hang in there,
Bob
This is one tough emotional roller coaster ride. Sending God prayers 4 peace and comfort.

I think we all second guess ourselves and think what if I'd done this or that instead. Fact is, probably nothing we could do to change the course of history. From the day we are born our days are numbered. It was just your husbands time, as it was my husband's time when he was 53. In the scheme of the whole universe it makes sense, and was the right time, but not to us. Nor will we ever comprehend it.
You will find many wonderful and supportive folks here on W&W that are struggling with many of the same issues. Whereas the story line is always a bit different, the elements are all the same. Oftentimes friends make the journey easier. I wouldn't have made it this far without faith, friends, family, and my virtual friends on DS.
God Bless.
God Bless,
Russ
you all are very dear
