I've been lurking about here for a while. It seems the protocol here is to introduce oneself, so here I am. I almost didn't join as all the profiles seemed to be women, then I happened on a couple of guys' profiles and thought "What the hell! I understand everything that you folks are saying. I lost my Abby September 29,2010. I was/am destroyed. It doesn't seem possible.
On Sundays I used to make breakfast for us both. Today, perhaps disoriented by the time change I made breakfast for two, even calling down to the bedroom that "breakfast is ready!", that's when I realized . . .
Can't finish now, something in my eye.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Welcome : ) There are no words to express the depth of pain we feel losing a loved one. I lost my husband in Sept my dad and a close friend in October. We all are on the same journey here some at different levels. I find comfort that we can express our feelings without judgement, in fact most of the time there are others experiencing the same feelings. Heartbrokin

I'm with you - exercise does help. MIndless activity helps me. As to the anger... anger is part of this journey. As I navigate the waters I try to give every one a bit of a free pass once or twice for stupid comments. If they continue - whoa be to them. But really, does anyone know what to say? And truthfully, unless you have been on this journey, you have NO IDEA!
Keep posting - we are here (sadly)

You are right that there do seem to be more women here. I am not sure why that is - women probably just tend to reach out more. But I think it is great that widowers are joining too and you guys offer just as much comfort, understanding and support as the women do. It doesn't matter what your circumstances, losing a spouse is a horrible ordeal and it is nice to know there are those here who truly understand.
Wishing you all the best,
Angie
When we first join this group we are apprehensive to share so much, pictures, feelings, circumstances but as we participate we find that it is through sharing these feelings that we start the road to our own healing.
Bless you and welcome.
