I'm not sure if I have posted on here about my goals for this year but I told my therapist I want to find the new me. Do things that I wouldn't normally do or go places ,new adventures. Its coming up on 6 months and I'm feeling like this grief monster is going away and I'm learning to accept Steven ain't coming back and he would want me to live life to the fullest.
I am currently on my first solo vacation ever. I flew for the 2nd time ever yesterday and I'm proud that I was able to make it within the airports by myself and relied only on me. Man Atlanta airport was huge. But I was able to make to my destinations safe and got my rental last night and made it to the hotel without any issues.
But I was so tired but then I didn't get much sleep. Even though I went on the cruise 2 months ago I was with family and my friends. I slept like a baby. New city new me just couldt sleep last night. which is not like me.
I'm visiting some friends in Daytona Beach,Florida were a week. First time to be in Florida.
Scottie told me to stay away from the sharks lol (he was meaning the men sharks, not the animals)
I was cracking up laughing when he told me that in a message he sent me.

I do find it amazing how people can just move on into meeting other people - I mean dating and such. Not saying it's a bad thing, I'm not judging but I do find it interesting how easily some of us can do that. Is it a cultural thing, is it a need to be coupled again, to be with another person other than relatives, a need to have the excitement of dating again......what is it.
I'm curious about how some folks can look and be with other's within a year of losing their mates and others find it repulsive for the rest of their lives. Fascinating subject, don't you think?

Life will be different and that's what's difficult to accept.
My first trip alone was so hard, tinged with sadness, but I felt good about myself and my inner strength. It felt like I was coming out of the shadows into the sunlight again.
We are all redefining who we are since the loss of our loves and wish you well on your journey.
We've shared our most intimate selves with another for so many years and to just give of yourself to another seems so impossible! I know to some it would be so exciting and to others so awkward! Again, I have no right to judge anyone on this journey.
Vacationing as a solo for the first time can be daunting enough, without the complications of a new relationship on top of it.
Maybe it's just easier when we're younger!
I sometimes love the company of others and sometimes I want to be totally alone. Before Morey passed away I couldn't imagine myself without him ever!

I do believe when someone has lost someone to cancer, and has been able to process the upcoming loss off their spouse for a period of time before that spouse dies , that I do believe they may be further along, of course only in some circumstances, and sometimes if that other spouses told the spouse who is still living, to move forward and to be with someone else, and be happy again, then sometimes that person may be able to pursue a relationship earlier on in their grief. Me, even at almost on year it is too soon for me. I'm still in love with sean, as he left me abruptly, I saw him one minute and within an hour or so he had passed away during an accident. So for me, I'm still dealing with his passing. I've accepted it more, but still find my love and in love feelings are still there, eventhough he is not physically there. big hugs to everyone, and Im sorry for interrupting your post patty, big hugs to you my dear!!
