Hey everyone. I lost my husband greg this past february. He was only 39. This is the first support group I've joined. I'm hoping it will help. I see a grief counselor but I don't say very much to her and feel like it's a waste of my and her time. I'm not one to open up much about feelings but thought maybe since it's not face to face it'd be a little bit easier. I've been sad until recently, now I'm just angry. I'm lonely and idk how to get past this phase...I don't want to be angry...

I wish I had tricks or techniques I could give u to help u get passed this anger. All I can give you is my opinions and my compassion. Anger is just part of the process. I have lost 2 husbands & a son and my present husband is in the later stages of prostrate cancer with bone mets. Anger, fear, despair, loneliness, anxiety. When I lost my first husband he was only 43,my son was 8 & I was 37. What I can tell you and share with you is that I know I will survive this death. I will feel all the same emotions. Much of the process is already starting for me because I've been here before. I hate it, I'd do anything to avoid it all. I can't so all I can do is grow emotionally again. I will rail against it I will rant, cry, be angry, push others away and try to run. It will still be true that he is gone & I am alone. So my advise to you is talk, talk talk talk to this grief person or others. You will not like all the ideas or advise or words. Some will anger or maybe even hurt you. Just try to let yourself feel it all and share with those who understand or care for you. If your like me others "care" almost hurts it seems. I've come to understand I must talk, share to go on. I can tell you I feel I'm more connected to the people left in my life. I valve people for different reasons then I once did. I have little time for petty things in life. So find your voice talk when u can, feel when u can and do what u must to keep ur life going. Sometimes I give myself time limits on crying, being angry, etc. I've changed habits that hurt to much to do alone. I'm finding new hobbies to distract me although my thoughts r so scattered. Sometimes even now others are going on with life while mine is falling apart again. So I'm trying to understand they haven't felt this pain they don't get it. But it's OK some of them I can say....come by spend an hour with me. I've joined this group to feel less alone. You can do this I believe in your strength while u feel weak. Hugs to you

Hi, I lost my husband on Feb. 25 to suicide at the age of 50. I'm so devastated. I can so relate to your feelings of anger. The holiday season isn't helping me at all. Just know that you aren't alone and get your feelings out. I joined an online support group and I go to a therapist. The therapist puts things into perspective. Sending you hugs

Unfortunately anger is just one of the many phases of grief. I tried hard to skip that level by telling myself that "my husband did not choose to leave me" and "I can't be selfish that god took him home to a better place". You are doing the right thing by gaining this group. My husband was killed in a freak accident (in front of me) three months ago and joining this group really helped me. It's hard talking to people that have no clue what your going through, but this group is filled with people who know EXACTLY what it's like. Please reach out to me anytime when you feel like talking about your struggles.

You have every right to be angry and every other motion under the sun. Writing about my feelings here saved my life and allowed me to heal eventually, but it is a long process. From what i understand about suicide, the person is in so much mental pain and anguish, they are not in their right mind when they take their life. The ones that talk about killilling themselves can be helped because that is there cry for help. But for some, theyve been living in torment in their head for so long without talking about to anyone, the pain overwhelmes them. As for your pain, well that's wby were all here, just to be here for each other as we all go through the worst thing we never imagined. God bless and comfort you. ~~~ Scottie
