Need to Take a Poll - please read

Hi All,


One of the things that was discussed in the conference call with DS, which goes to a lot of the complaints here, was the formatting of the new site.  We were told that the new site has been designed and optimized for viewing on a mobile device - i.e., cell phones - as that is how most of the users are using the site.  Personally, I doubt that very much, but I have nothing but my own experiences to draw upon.  I don't look at this site on a phone - I started on a desktop computer and use a laptop now.  When I travel, I use a tablet.  I am 59 which means tiny print is hard for me without my reading glasses, and arthritis in my hands makes all that thumb-scrolling not a good idea.  But maybe I am in the minority on these things.  If you wouldn't mind answering the following, it would help me figure out if it's just me that has these problems, or whether I need to take that back to TeamDS.


What type of device are you using to come to Daily Strength?

Which age group are you in?

I don't normally ask for this kind of info, but I feel it would help me understand better, and I would pass this on to TeamDS so they understand US better.

The original Daily Strength was launched in, I think, 2006. (I joined in 2007.) By 2016, the site was ten years old, which in tech terms is a hundred years, so the new owners of DS decided to update and revamp it. The bulk of the users of the site are younger and more tech-savvy than most of our group I think, and in particular use more mobile devices. The old site was not mobile-friendly, and I guess for most other groups the revamp made sense. For our group, however, it's been less than wonderful. I, too, miss the old format. It was easier to navigate, easier to see who had been online, see your hugs and journals and all the rest of it. Oh, and I lost all my photos and half my friends list when the revamp happened.

I am doing the best I can with it, and despite it not delivering all that the old format did which I liked, I recognize it is still a lifeline for the members of our group, especially the newbies, so I have stayed on.

I am still in both C categories.....
