Need to blow off some steam

First of all my next door neighbor has been wanting to buying my place for 30+ thousands of dollars less than what it is worth....SO I have all along felt he wants me to fail...

Second In my opinion he has done nothing to help me out that much, only if I bug him because it something his neighborhood doings messes me up.

SO as I have written I have been pumping my pond down as it floods into my hay storage/ and pasture so this neighbor decides to put water in the ditch that goes through my place into his very large pond....
BUT every year the little ditch runs over, water seeps through flooding my pasture and pond. HE did after much complaining line it last year but each year the elk and deer put holes in it. I keep the horses off the area (for yrs) because of it..

WELL I had my pond down to little or nothing and woke up to it all over extensively, called him at 6 (as he leaves for work very early) to shut it down...he was very pissy and we got into a shouting match. HE said it was my reponsibility to keep the ditch clean (it plugged up the screen in this incidence) not his. WELL I do not put the ditch on full force NEVER HAVE and do not need it. SO I have a bad cold, have been feeling like crap last few days I let him have it. I think neighbors heard us for miles...

I called our North Conservation District on the water situation (it comes from the nearby river which we have jr water rights) as I know in the pst he always put the gates up too high for his jr rights MY husband would go and take care of it. SO I am going to have them see if he is doing that, and have them show me how to shut it down if I need to. Also regulate the flow, I know he will be poed but I am tired of this.

He is the kind of guy that has no respect for women, his common law wife of 25 yrs he treats well not super well. I guess I just feel he can run all over me without ROger here.
NEEDED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST I did not want to get bad feelings between us going as we have tip toed around him all these yrs living here to keep neighborly peace I just have had it...

Wow I really didn't understand all that about the water but your neighbor sounds like a jerk. Good thing you had someone you could call. You certainly don't need to take all that from him. Good Luck with this. Hugs, Chris

Nicker----it can be SO damn hard when you have to do what you know Roger would have been able to take care of-----but my dear, you sound like you are taking care of business. There is so much I don't know about with water rights etc that YOU know about and know who to call to take care of things. Good luck to you and Hugs, Sal

GLAD you got this off your chest! It's HUGE WEIGHT to have there!!!

I can pretend to know about water rights, and how all that works, but CAN say that the neighbor does NOT sound very 'neighborly"!!!

You have been SO STORNG and have done EVERYTHING you can to hold body and spirit together without Roger to there to help you. KNOW that he is watching you, and is so PROUD of you!!

I think many men tend to take advantage of a widow. They probably could never admit it to themselves, but it is that old sexist thing. It has happened to me. You seem to be holding your own. I had my carpet replaced with wood floors, the contractor lives across the street, he was having personal problems, when it dragged on for 4 months I locked his equipment in my garage and would not let him have it until my floors were completed. My floors look great!

Nicker, your post hit home with me. I have a similar neighbor who is behaving the same way. Nothing like hitting you when you're already down!! My neighbor inherited their home from his wife's mother. They have always been very disrespectful, and are trying to dispute our property line. It takes so much energy that we do not have to deal with these issues. They do not take very good care of their property, and they and their live at home adult son are always breaking the law. It is so frustrating, and draining.

OMG, this was like reading an episode of Bonanza lol. Just send big Hoss over there to give this creep a good smack down. I would sell that Ponderosa to anyone but that A-hole, and hot foot it to Florida sweetie. You would be much happier laying on a beach than draining slop out of a ditch. I bet the elk don't look so cute when you're flopping around in that muck, you'll love the palm trees though........God Bless, Sal

OH Sal at least I am not a Hatfield or McCoy that I know of....I think Roger just did behind his back what he did to alleviate the flow, it was like a cat and mouse thing...which I am not going to do, if he is over regulating his flow time to stop him,,, He should be nice to me it was my connection with Natural Resources work that got us the free flume meter worth ~$600 in the first place.

But I am determined to fight for my rights this time...

And let the feds help me out with what is or is not...he hates the govt telling him what to do...(SHHH I turned him in for shooting Osprey and Blue Herons coming in his pond eating the fish)

And maybe I can find some funding or ideas for piping that section or fixing it for good..somehow....

Vent away any time you need to.......I think your neighbor should be glad that you venting as otherwise you would let him have it with both barrels.....it sounds like you are good at holding your own. Let him know that this is one tough WOMEN that he is not going to run over.
I would sell to anyone else but him or have the price higher by $30,000 just because he is being a %$$#*!@...........wishing you peace in the coming days.....after you give him a piece of your mind!!.........hugs

He sounds like a real jerk! Good for you for calling in the authorities - I know it was awful that you had to do that, but sometimes you should get your taxpayer's money's worth! I hope it gets sorted and you get a decent buyer soon.

Got to say Sal always gives me a chuckle. Glad you came here to vent. I was just discussing with a friend how people think they can take advantage because we are widows. I think they don't realize that we also have decided we are done being victims and mess with us at your own risk. Good for you for fighting back.

Oh dear. My husband and I had JERKS living across the street from us for 6 years. We built a fence across the front of our property and kept the gate closed and locked. It was an armed standoff until about a year ago. They moved away; and the nicest most wonderful people moved in. I hope your situation will resolve itself happily -- soon. Meanwhile, it sounds like you're handling it like a champion. (Don't you just hate guys who think women are contemptible?) Take care of your cold. Put your feet up and watch something funny on TV.     My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
