A few weeks ago I told people here about my taking my ring off on the one year anniversary of my husbands passing. On April 1, I will remove my ring and premier the new woman: me. I call it my rebirth.
Here's how my rebirth week has been shaping up:
Monday: Yoga in Spanish. My body feels fit and stronger but I still have a ways to go. I had a dream, staring my husband. Seems I've had a lot of them in the past week. Maybe he's celebrating my rebirth too?
Tuesday: Spent the day with dad, playing with my dog and just relaxing. Stopped off at Pandora Jewlry to find out about taking my ring and putting it on a bracelet. I'd probably will do that next March if at all.
Today: Had lunch with friends, stopped of at Godiva and purchased 4 tiny pieces of chocolate for 13 dollars. Stopped off at a high-end tea shop and bought tea for 20 dollars an ounce. I normally don't do that, but what the heck, how often do you get reborn?
Tomorrow I'm treating my step-daughter and family to lunch at a nice restaurant and Friday, my rebirth day, I'm off for a spa treatment.
I'm feeling great, free of stress, really happy about my rebirth. Guys, there is life after one of the greatest tragedies of our lives.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Keep us posted, sounds like things are moving along according to plan!

I call this my rebirth day because I've decided to embrace my new life. It is not the life I wanted, but nevertheless I'm here and must accept it. I refuse to spend my life in sadness, so I choose joy instead. I find that happiness is a choice. I can spend my life thinking of all that I have lost. Or I can spend my life seeing all that I have gained: I have a stepdaughter a wonderful son-in-law, and two beautiful grandkids. They are blessing in my life and unexpected as I never had children(by choice). I see joy in these things and realize how spectacularly blessed I am.
I have a job that was provided to me by God in a most unexpected way.
I have a 83 year old father. We don't always see eye to eye, but I love him and am blessed to have him in my life.
I have a bird who tells me to be a good bird each day I go off to work.
I have a dog that I call my God-dog because he was my gift to my father, but I'm responsible financially. This little dog loves me to pieces and always greets me with a wagging tail and eyes that tell me he is happy to see me.
So much happiness and there for me to take, yet for one year I was not capable of seeing past my grief. Instead, I spent that year trying to capture happiness, but it was elusive.
God provides a way to happiness. It's a vision statement. Oprah tells us to write what we want on a board and read it everyday. There's a book out there called Wishcraft that says the same thing.
So, my vision statement is to be happy on April 1. To take off my ring and embrace the new life. The new me. The rebirthed me. I am a woman reborn on April 1st.
