Remember...just when the caterpillar thought its life was over...it became a beautiful BUTTERFLY!

I call this my rebirth day because I've decided to embrace my new life. It is not the life I wanted, but nevertheless I'm here and must accept it. I refuse to spend my life in sadness, so I choose joy instead. I find that happiness is a choice. I can spend my life thinking of all that I have lost. Or I can spend my life seeing all that I have gained: I have a stepdaughter a wonderful son-in-law, and two beautiful grandkids. They are blessing in my life and unexpected as I never had children(by choice). I see joy in these things and realize how spectacularly blessed I am.
I have a job that was provided to me by God in a most unexpected way.
I have a 83 year old father. We don't always see eye to eye, but I love him and am blessed to have him in my life.
I have a bird who tells me to be a good bird each day I go off to work.
I have a dog that I call my God-dog because he was my gift to my father, but I'm responsible financially. This little dog loves me to pieces and always greets me with a wagging tail and eyes that tell me he is happy to see me.
So much happiness and there for me to take, yet for one year I was not capable of seeing past my grief. Instead, I spent that year trying to capture happiness, but it was elusive.
God provides a way to happiness. It's a vision statement. Oprah tells us to write what we want on a board and read it everyday. There's a book out there called Wishcraft that says the same thing.
So, my vision statement is to be happy on April 1. To take off my ring and embrace the new life. The new me. The rebirthed me. I am a woman reborn on April 1st.
