Moving out and moving on

Today has been one of the hardest days of my life since my beloved died in November, just a short 4+ months ago.


Some of you may remember I spoke about selling up not that long ago. Well that time has come and I can only believe that it is meant to be.  The property was snapped up immediately it went on the market.


But I never expected the rush of emotions today - and yet I should've - moving on from our home of the past ten years. I know I will take memories and love with me wherever I go but I miss him so much. He should be walking with me on this new chapter. 


But in the words of Curtis Mayfield "hush now child, and don't cry.....just move on up towards your destination".


One day I will be with him again.

Hi Mrs. P. It does sound as if it was meant to be. I can only imagine the rush of emotions you must be feeling. So much of me wants to cling to the past and yet I know I must move forward without him.

And yes, one day we will be with our beloved spouses again. Until then, we just have to keep on moving.....................

I know what you mean. I'm currently in the process of moving myself. Been fooling myself that I'm excited about the move but each item that disappears from the house it that more painful to realize that part of my life is over. And like you I can hear my wife saying everything going to be ok. Big hugs for you MrsP.

I also will be having to do this. We lived here over 20 years. Thank each of you for posting here. I would like some friends who face this because of losing a spouse.

I had to move, could not afford the mortgage, or the acreage. It was sad. My advice/suggestion would be, before leaving, take pictures inside/outside. Then take pictures from inside, looking outside, and vice versa. This has helped me, and I know the couple who bought it, will enjoy living there. My husband would be fine with me moving, we were planning to move in 5 years or so anyways... It's going to be ok mrs. p. There will be good things ahead for you. Much love and hugs carla

Hi Mrs P know what you going through did the same thing new house new area, don't know anyone my daughter lives down the road, she moved sometime ago as I'm retired now that's worse so have plenty of time on my hands, with not much to do apart from look after puppy, but we will get through this all of us God willing big hug Micky.

Sweet MrsP.....you are stronger than you know and braver than you think, you will always have the memories in your heart! Prayers sent your way for a smooth transition with hopes that the bright light at the end of the long dark tunnel will show itself to you and give you hope for a future filled with courage, strength, love and as always....fond memories!
It's a hard road you're about to travel but the right one. Let your love see the world through your eyes now and live your life the way he would want you to.
You may not understand this wish just yet, but my wish for you is to be happy sweet lady. Always love yourself and you will make it through all of this.

MrsP, I just said a prayer for you. I only hope that I can be as strong as you when my day comes to move. I also have too much acreage, too much house, and too much maintenance for just me. I know that I need to move, but I just can't seem to make that final decision as to when and where. Even though it is painful, you really should be proud of yourself. Roxanne

Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me.
