This may I sound kind of silly but I am going to say it I would miss how he used to look at me. I also miss how he used to play with the older dogs all of the time. I miss just being held by him at night. I miss talking to him. Dare I even say it I miss his sarcastic personality. I really miss how he used to sing to me and play the guitar for me. I miss playing with his long hair due to his arthritis I would brush his hair out when he would wash it. I just miss him all together.

I miss him getting up every morning when my alarm for work went off and I hit the snooze, he would go start his car, come back in wash his face, brush his teeth and go to Tim Horton's to get me a Cafe Mocha, come back and set it on the night stand for me when I finally got up to get ready for work....Its will be 4 mths tomorrow, and every morning my alarm goes off, I am hit with the lack of presents...as if some morning I will hear him, and everything will be back to "normal"...I also miss him making me dinner and sitting across from him, watching him take the first bite and nodding his head with pride as to how good what ever he made was, as he'd wait for my opinion on it as well...but most of all I miss telling him I love him every night before I went to bed...and being hugged-I miss that too!!

I miss tucking my arm under his and holding hands in the car. I miss crawling into bed and having him there to hold me. He would squeeze me so tightly I would have to say don't break me.

I miss so much I don't know where to start. But now during the summer I miss having dinner on the deck and taking a ride in the convertible. Even if we didn't have anywhere specific to go we enjoyed the warm summer evenings riding around.
I remember one night after his chemo and radiation treatments he was so sick, I asked if he wanted to go for a ride and it helped his mood so much,

I miss everything. My wife was in the hospital for 4 months prior to her death but the expectation was a full recovery and a return home. I thought I would be getting back what I was missing. While she improved greatly over that time nothing was normal. She had a trachea tube in the majority of the time to help with breathing, which did come out at a couple points. We communicated by her writing or me reading lips but we haven't had a real conversation in 7+ months now. We slept in the same room twice in those 4 months when I stayed at the hospital (I have a 3 year old so I had to be home or else I never would have left the hospital) but we haven't been in the same bed since Dec. 8, 2012. Nothing has her scent. Not the bed. Not her clothes. I miss doing her laundry. I miss cooking for her on the weekends since she did most of the cooking during the week because she was home first. I miss coming home to her and my daughter playing outside in the summer. I miss her asking me to rub her back or head or shoulders every night and me giving a hard time every time she asks. I miss begging her to sit on the deck with me to have a drink only for her to be proven right by us getting mauled by mosquitos shortly after. I miss interrupting her while she was reading in bed with an asinine comment. I miss watching her and our daughter together. They adored each other. I miss everything about our life together, even more so because it was not remotely close to normal for the 4 months leading up to her death.

I couldn't isolate just one single thing. In more general terms, I miss that sense of calm and complacency that everything was going to be alright because I always had him there. All my needs were met, and there was nothing we couldn't face or overcome together. I miss that little bit of heaven we experienced here on earth.

Since my husband was blind I would cook when got home from work. Driving home I'd think about what was in the refrigerator and throw something together. He'd always say "What's for supper/" and I'd say "You'll find out." We would eat and talk. One time I planned on warming up ham that I baked over the weekend. There was a lot of it. I told him we're going to have the ham and a vegetable. He said "What ham?"
because he raided the refrigerator while I was at work. Well, I thought it was funny, anyway. I miss that routine.

Like so many have said it's hard to pick just one... putting my feet my cold feet between his legs to keep them warm on those cold winter nights! I remember telling my doctor between sobs.... my feet are cold... so cold and my Jimmy is not here to keep them warm! Also when he came home he would say Daddys home.... a great father he was! Oh WOW! Blessings all!

My husband worked a lot so he cherished his time spent at home- I miss fussing over him, preparing his favorite foods and listening to all the stories he had, he always made me laugh. I miss the intimacy and so much more, we knew each other so well, for over 40 years.

A lot but one I thought of this am was after a night of partying...he would ask me the next morning - why am I waking up naked and I'd tell him "go look at the living room floor and you tell me". LOL

I miss talking to him. At night we would go to bed and I would share a joke that I hear or got on my emai and he would start laughing. I miss fighting him for the remote control. My kids used to get a kick out of it since my husband would be watching the tv and I would be busy in the kitchen or doing laundry and then I would go sit on the sofa and he would hold on to the remote since he knew I would take it over. It is amazing how much we miss those silly little things that meant so much to us now. Linda

It's the little everyday things I think I miss the most, his quick little text messages to me at work just to say he hopes my day is going well or to ask about dinner, our Saturday night church & dinner date, all the TV shows we both loved & watching them together, our quiet Sunday mornings reading the paper together, the way he smelled when he came out of the shower, I could go on forever as we were married for 29yrs, but most of all I just miss him........................Kim

Like everyone else here miss everything about our life together, but what stands out most is his wonderful sense of humor, the way we held hands as we walked, watching him with our grandchildren, him hugging me from behind as I washed dishes and him always telling me I looked like a million bucks. I would tell him..."you say that all the time...I can't always look like a million bucks" and he would say "you do to me"

There are so many things I miss...his taking the trash out, his reaching for high objects, opening jars, holding my hand going down the stairs, giggling together in the wee hours of the morning, his off the wall humor, his foot rubs, his making me coffee, (saying yes, if I asked him if HE wanted some...), swapping the "Yup, I get it" looks with him, shopping with him, traveling with him, and so on, and so on....but the one thing I REALLY miss?

When I was restless and couldn't get to sleep, he would snuggle behind me and pet my head...stroking my hair, and taking away all the excess energy. It never failed to put me right to sleep...
