Thats a long time to take care of someone i am sure you became so used to taking care of her you forgot how to take care of You. This is what it is about i sometimes think..figuring out yourself. I took care of my husband too and once he passed i was lost without him and taking care of him..became my normal drill..I try and think positive thoughts daily and try to find me too...it gets easier with time as we change and learn how to cope more. I never was all that crazy about Christmas music, but I put some on for the noise effects. I am not sure if having the flu is helping my cause or not. I feel numb and empty. And if I can say it, like no one cares. My son is sick too, so he's not coming over and bugging me like usual. I was a caregiver for about two years, technically about four. My, my, my. I can't begin to fathom 15. I hope you have kids or family nearby who are supportive. I am not sure what it will take to get motivated again to go on living with a purpose. Does anyone else feel like "the party's over?" It feels like we are all now under hospice care - just make us comfortable, blah, blah, blah... this is not a good place to be.

My second holidays without her and I thought it may get better, easier, however it has surprised me how it hard it has hit.

Shewears, it feels like the party's over for me when no one calls that I can relate well to.
"Hospice care- just make us comfortable" yes I can relate...The future is often uncertain and daunting. Without God it would be unbearable. (Acts 2:38 Acts 22:16 Mark 16:16 Rev 1:5)

I feel the same as Judy. I miss my John every single day, and he is always on my mind even though he has been gone several years. My therapist reminds me constantly that I will always miss him. It is just learning to live without him. Holidays are always hard, and you just do what you need to do to get through them. I find spending time with my grandchildren helps; however, I still have moments when the tears flow. Time helps but still doesn't completely erase your feelings of loss and yearning for the one you lost. Hugs to you, Roxanne
