Saw this on another site and started me thinking and putting it in words.
WHAT I WILL MISS:
him doing his crazy dance
at the mall, buying me a surprise gift while i sit on the bench people watching
calling me when he is out and asking "what do you want to eat"
taking he garbage out
taking care of all the repairs
taking care of all the bills
taking me to the airport and picking me up after my trips. He didn't like to travel
Cooking, because he was better at it than I. I did wash the dishes though
Loving and never saying no to my children who he accepted as his own
My mind has blanked out. Have to add some more later.
WHAT I WON'T MISS
sitting his glass at the very edge of the cocktail table
not traveling with me. I would get so lonely going with a group
Missing him so much, has clouded what I won't miss. What will you miss and not miss about your loved one?

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...

I'nm exhausted. This doxycycline thing has ripped me apart and I'm eating crackers and water. I can't take (anything) or eat (anything) except saltines and toast and maybe unbuttered watery mashed potatoes. Are we sure the cure isn't worse than the possible disease?!?!And a week to go. ***Fun cures that WERE worse than the disease:ARsenic. Popular against STDs, which just compounded misery...

What I don't miss is his telling me what I should do or not do. Nothing made me do something more than being told I can't or shouldn't.
I have few complaints about him. Sure we had disagreements, but I always knew that I was loved and secure in his arms. Sharon
her kindness to me, no matter what..often i would come home, and find she had bought me some special snack, or had made a special dinner because if we had talked earlier and she knew i was having a bad day, she wanted to make it better..
her presence..we could be doing our own thing in different rooms..and talk to each other..i'd listen for her across the hall from me, her in her beading/crafting room, me in my office at my computer..2 days ago, my brain played an evil trick on me..i could have sworn i heard her across the hall, clearing her throat..that made for a good cry..
her silliness.."taco night" i think she loved, just so she could come hand me a slice of cheddar cheese, giggling the whole time so she could tell me she just 'cut the cheese' ; she also would dance around when certain songs came on..
I will not miss - checking on her only to find she had not eaten all day and had a blood sugar so low she was about to pass out (diabetes is so fun)
-the suffering with breathing/dialysis she endured..she hated it
-her not calling or texting me back in a timely fashion..Melodie was terrible about checking in if she had to go any distance to a medical appointment or travelling across the state to see her grandmother for example. I always worried when she did, because her health was so fragile. Sadly i still have the last texts on my phone from the day she passed where i was asking her over and over why she was not answering... Although technically i miss the hell out of getting a text or call from her right about now..
What I do not miss is his friends that would hang out on weekends when there was work to be done. I do not miss having a dead deer strung up in my yard from a hunting trip. I do not miss the practical jokes at my expense....but I do miss HIM.

What i dont miss is seeing him in pain and suffering after his car accidnet and struggling to relearn everythign due to his brain injurys, his anger over being paralized, or his diabetes taking over.
What I don't miss - his driving over the past couple of years - it was not dangerous but was getting a bit dicey! However, I wish I hadn't given him such a bad time about it.
What I won't miss. His dirty laundry hanging in the closet instead of in the hamper. But honestly, I'd put up with that in a second if it meant having him back again.

~ calling/texting my wife in the morning, just to say "I love you" and getting/hearing the same message back from her
~randomly shopping for little things to get for her that i know she would like..i keep seeing things all the time i want to get her..
~having someone just to talk too..about anything..or nothing..someone to sit with and watch meaningless tv, or someone to surprise with an impromptu "lets go get lunch and then a movie"
~ her smell..My wife always wore perfume..she always smelled great..i had spritzed a little on my shirt over the past few weeks, to make it smell like i'd gotten a hug, but not recently, its just too painful (cuz i miss her hugs too) ; and now its starting to fade from her clothes..
i better stop it now..just depressing myself..
