Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I pray things will get better for you.
I use those days for reflection as best I can. I have journaled about my feelings on those days. That has helped. The 2nd anniversary, in November 2009, I narrowly escaped being killed in an auto accident. That took a lot of work to get through emotionally, too.
I got counseling after Cliff died, and whenever I needed it, I would check back in with my counselor. That might be helpful for you, too.
The other thing I wanted to suggest for you is a book that really helped me a lot. I read a few grief books, most did little for me, except this one: "Seven Choices - Finding Daylight After Loss Shatters Your World" by Elizabeth Harper Neeld, PhD. Your public library may have it, or Amazon has the paperback for about $10 (about 10 from Amazon-UK). If you read no other grief books, try to get this one.
I hope this helps. I am so glad you found us, too.
Love and Hugs,
Martha
