I can promise you will always remember his voice. it's been nine years and my husband's voice is still very much in my memory.
Wishing you peace as you work through this sad time. Hugs, Dolores
I want to try to copy my videos of him onto a disk. If I can't figure out how to do it, hoping I will with a new computer,I will upload to U-Tube so it'll be there and I can always watch and hear him. The videos are of him riding/training quarter horses.
It's been just over one year since he passed away. I still can't believe it sometimes. Like he's away and will be back.....after one year I am still very devastated. And I so miss hearing his voice talking to me.
Take care.
I don't have his voice anywhere and I wish I did but it would probably make me sad. Just take your time and do what you want as you want to. There is not certain way to grieve I have found that out. I am still grieving and will for a long time. I am better and not crying every day but the simplest thing like a song can bring on the tears. GOD be with you and I will pray for you. You are not alone.
That is what I did, because it it upset my children when they called and got the voicemail to hear thier mothers voice, not that they didn't want to, it was just hard for them to hear it.
I also kept alot of the voicemails she left me right before she passed, so I can hear her voice antime I want.
It never ceases to amaze me how we humans can hold on to things. I still can't look at our scrapbooks filled with his pictures [of when he was sound and well.] Animals, especially dogs are so much smarter than we are. They live in the moment and know how to forget and forgive.
ssdad, your journey is in the very early stages, I can't promise that it will get any easier because at times, I have found that it gets harder and then easer only to get more difficult again.
Do what you can to make it as easy as you can for yourself.
Warmly,
Roz
It's true that it seems easier some parts of some days and then for no apparent reason it gets really hard. I think I just try not to think about it, sometimes because it's too big and unimaginable. Surreal, unreal, and heart-hurting.
My husband died 5 months ago, and I kept the only voicemail message that was on my phone when he died. I used an app to record it. I think holding onto their voices is so important. It means more to me than a picture to be able to hear his voice again.
You can download the app from the Apple Store...
do everything in your own time. Much peace...
