I kept some of his favourite t-shirts and made a quilt out of them. I actually haf it draped over his coffin at the burial for his last chance to wear them

I have made our daughter a memory blanket from his t-shirts and other articles of clothing and have other articles of clothing to make some rag blankets for our son , myself and his sister . If there is enough I will make a lap one for his mom.
I think that the memory blankets can be used for years to come if they are well made . My mom made my kids blankets 20 years ago and they are still in great shape. The bear may be loved for a while but then may get put away faster. It may also be harder to wash and maintain in good shape . Rag blankets made with a wider seem allowance llast until the fabric rots . Just my opinion.

I am planning on having a Memorial Quilt made from Jeff's shirts. There is a lady in town that does them locally.

I made a tie quilt for my baby grandson who has never met his loving grandpa. I plan to make a Hawaiian shirt quilt from his Hawaiian shirts. My daughter made a puppy from his shirts. She had made a quilt prior to the funeral so she finished it off and draped it on him and cremated it with him.

My niece is going to make me a memory quilt out of Rich's shirts and sweaters. That is whenever I can give them up!

If you have a quilt store in town, I would go there for recommendations. They might be able to give you a local contact.

I found a lady on ebay that made Tie quilts. My husband wore ties everyday to work and I wanted something special. He had some beautiful ties. She did a beautiful job. She sort of did a Dresden plate type pattern with them all over the quilt. I bought a glass quilt display case that I have on display in my living room. I love it.

My buddy's wife quilts so I asked her to make one for me. Capri collected lots of unusual materiel to use in her collage artwork. She also collected 1940's-50's tableclothes, the souvenier ones with themed screenprinting, Hawaii, Mexico, flamingos and on and on. I took all that to my quilter friend an she took them to her quilting club. They are making one for me and some for my kids and grandkids too. Check around in your area for quilting clubs or guilds. They may be able to help you out.

I think a teddy would also be great. Not difficult to make and patterns are available. Quilts also super idea.

My girl had several comfy sweatshirts that she liked to lounge around in. I would love to do something with them but not sure about the quilt idea since I'm not much of a blanket guy. Any ideas?

I just googled memory quilts and memory bears. There's quite a few websites to choose from.
I mailed my husband's shirt to a woman in California. She's making a teddy bear for my grandson with it.

If you don't want a quilt, I've seen pillows.
MP2B, I think a sweatshirt would make a nice soft pillow.

Thanks npc, that is a great idea. No laughing at me, but I've already been sleeping with one of her sweatshirts, so a pillow sounds great!
