Pictures please! I love dogs, tell me more! What did you decide to get?

His name is Edwin and he's a Shiba Inu, a breed that goes back before Christ. I'm real excited, but he's off to boot camp for a month. It's a stubborn breed so the earlier I go with training, the better. My schedule is too crazy to attend regular training sessions, but I plan to do all sorts of things with him.

Right now, Edwin is being crate trained and is, of course, not to pleased with it.

Congratulations! They are beautiful dogs. Surely you didn't find him at a shelter!?!

Edwin is a cute name. I'm sure there's story there too.

And one last thing - at this camp thing - do they WEAR boots or just chew on them?

I'm just asking.

This is so great! I love dogs and some day will have another one. I too am looking forward to pictures.

I just Googled Shiba Inu to see what your new friend looks like. What a cutie. The site where my search took me was a Shiba Inu watching a squirrel through a patio door. They seemed pretty intense while "checking out" one another.

That independent squirrel on the opposite side of that window must have the same tendencies as the one who visits my back patio. He and a baby groundhog seem to delight in eating my straw Welcome mat, but they are very discriminate critters. They only eat the "W" on my now Elcome mat. Still can't figure out that one, but caught them on the digital chowing down. Is it my imagination or are they getting a bit chubby on the delicacy of my "W"?

I'm sure you will enjoy your new house companion. Animals are great company, plus they are so loyal and loving. I've never heard of boot camp for dogs. You've introduced me to a new concept. TJ

Congrats on the new addition to the family !! I love dogs - and we have 3 of them that are definitely my babies. They are so much fun and so much company, not be mention great comfort. I know that Edwin will bring lots of smiles to your days.

As far as the puppy "boot" camp.............I'm sure that's where they chew on them, not wear them !!! LOLOL It's just a puppy thing !!!

It's a proud and independant breed. Quite a nice looking dog and would be one of my choices if not for the fact that I am a Miniature Pinscher addict. I have three. My dogs have been one of the saving sanity factors for me through this loss. Thye cuddle with me, sit next to and on top of me, lay by my feet when I am on the computer..I am not alone. I have my fur babies and DS.

Shiba Inu, love that name. There was a pup in my Phoebe's puppy class. It was the first time I ever heard of or saw one. Nice dog, good company for you. Will await the pictures. Hug, Donna
