It's one of the things I've had to learn since losing my spouse: how to live alone. I was one of those women who moved from my parents house to my husband's home. Now I'm by myself and learning a whole new way of life. Anyhow there's an interesting article that made me smile. It's about the qurkie things we do when we live alone. I have one of my own. I've taken to relaxing in a large blue thing by the makers of Huggy. I put the thing on the minute I get home. It's sort of like those old bunny pajamas with the feet things. Mine is two sizes too large. Definetly wouldn't want someone to see me in it, but one day my next door neigbor knocked on the door and I forgot I was wearing it. He didn't say anything, but before seeing me in it he was sort of flirtatious. I'm sort of glad that ended that problem. Oh, did I mention the rollers too? Anyhow here's the article.

I had lived on my own before Frank. So, that was not an issue...other than suddenly discovering that it was so quiet now. I don;t remember the quietness from before .

i do the same things...come home and put on my pajamas! I eat dinner wherever and whenever i wish..in front of the tv, the computer...rarely at the table! I only do about 2 loads of laundry a week...and the dishwasher s lucky to run once every other week!
last Satursay night, I laid in bed and read a book until I finished it..at 2 am!

My worst is that I go outside in the pajamas to take the dog out! Hey...they might look like a lounging set!

First - Chris, you mean the Walking Dead? Oh, man. Everytime there's a marathon on I watch it for like 4 hours straight. Tru - this article made me laugh, but your attire was even better. I rip my clothes off as soon as I hit the front door, into sweats, sweatsocks, one of Joe's old ripped t-shirts and an xxx large sweatshirt. And yes, I answer the door like this. I talk to myself a lot (not always aloud though - does that make it better?) I also dance around the living room, and sometimes belt along with a song I like. Last week, I casually asked my next door neighbor, "you don't, like...hear anything, do you?" Lol. Hugs, Marsha

Thanks for sharing this. I find myself in some of the "quirks" I do eat sometimes strange things. Avocado and pita chips, popcorn, apple with peanut butter. Other people might think it strange. I did walk around the house naked once, after throwing my clothes in the washer. I told my friend, and he said "Good Lord, you're a grandma".lol. I do dance in the living room, but talking to myself, hasn't happened yet.

This article comforted me and made me feel, well, rather normal. Never thought it was a new trend to live alone, but I like it. In fact, I don't know if I ever want to live with anyone ever again. It's true, I like being in control of everything, and if I want to blast my music and sing and dance with my dog. I will. Love this post. Thanks for sharing.

I really needed to see this thread. I too have never lived alone until now. I must say there are some good things about it but when Roger was here he was confined to his room and I had the rest of the house to myself. It's a fairly large house and I sorta did what I wanted anyway. However, actually being alone is so very, very different. I don't really dislike it but I'd rather be with my sweetie. The biggest difference is what I eat. I'm leaning to cook different foods and I really like that. I can come and go as I please and I like that too but in the end I'd rather be with Roger.

What a wonderful thread! I needed the laughs! Boxer shorts and Snuggies!!! Like Nessie, I leave the bathroom door open now and still feel odd about it. I put my flannel PJ's on as soon as I get home. I also eat cereal for dinner. My coat is on the same doorknob I asked Gerry not to leave his.
Truhal I'm still giggling that the neighbor was flirty until he saw you in the rollers and snuggie....

My husbands side of the bed is usually stacked with papers,books,mags,newspapers etc. That's on a good day. Most days there is usually a pile of laundry resting there waiting to be put away-add one dog and two cats and well you get the picture ! IYou can often find me shaking my head wondering how one person can make such a mess. I used to blame my husband and kids for messing up the house-who knew that all along it was moi!
I also peek out my curtains a lot,like Mrs. Kravis,from Bewitched,who woulda thunk it.lol
