I look forward to the day when I'm reunited with my husband also. The time until then seems so long. I try to remember to take it one day at a time. Our loved ones are there waiting for us, forever how long it takes.
Take care....Nancy
I have to say that I could not think about forever for a very very very long time. I now have lived through so many ups and downs and arounds and arounds and to hell and back again so many times and cried so many tears, I was sure that I would never see the sun shine again.
But some how, some way, little by little, and one step at a time, color reappears in the world. The sun once again does shine. It is not the same as before, but you will again one day see the sun shine and feel joy again.
While it is all so unbearable and the wound so very raw, please just trust that it will some day be bearable. I know that you feel like your life is over, but it is not.
Hang in there. Take it one day at a time, one breath at a time.
Though right now you feel so very alone....you are not alone. You have come to the right place. I know we all are just virtual people on a computer screen, but we are all real people surviving the unsurvable too.
Sending you lots and lots of hugs from Vermont.
-Diana
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down....
It's hard to read those cards, and for me, over 500 emails that I saved. The last card Mike gave me was for my birthday, and it read, "I'm really looking forward to the future with you."
Future? What future? That one really makes me sad.
Hugs to you on this down day. There will be better ones ahead. Not right away, but they will come. Keep coming here. We can keep you company in your grief.

I was thinking the other day that it doesn't seem that long ago that my daughter was born - yet it was 16 years. Then I was thinking - if that 16 years went that fast then in another 16 years I'll be c lose to 70. Once I'm 70 I'll feel like I'm "old age" and near the end (whether I am or not) - any why that's how I was thinking. Then it didn't seem so long. There's not much we can do be deal with it the best we can - which I suppose means maybe not thinking about it.
I know how you're feeling - I've been feeling that way yesterday and today. And you're right - you can only take one day at a time. When Mark asked me to marry him, he wrote me a love letter and I've read it over and over so many times. He said that he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life - I had no idea that it would be such a short one. I can not imagine 20 years more without him to share it - so I can't think about it. Again, one day at a time...........that's the best that we can do right now.
Wishing you a sunny day.........and hugs.

YOUR BEAUTIFUL MELISSA IS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU, SHE IS IN YOUR TWO SONS!
THE BEST THING ABOUT TRUE LOVE IS THAT YOU KNEW ALL HER HOPES AND DREAMS FOR YOUR CHILDREN. I KNOW YOU MISS YOUR WIFE, BUT YOU GET THE HONOR OF MAKING SURE THE "MOM" IN HER CONTINUES TO SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY.
ALL OF US ARE HERE TO HELP YOU IF WE CAN.
I also have cards that my husband gave my. One valentine in particular stands out; the last line being about getting his hands on my butt. Under this, Todd wrote.....Hell yeah!
