Hi Guys, I've been around here for a little while. My husband Bill died March 27th 2016 of colon cancer. We only had two months warning that he was going to die. I haven't posted a lot because I find just find it so painful both to read and to talk about. I am 61 and childless (not by my own choosing.) I don't have any family where I live. I don't have much family left anyway, at least not anyone that I'm close to. Do I feel sorry for myself? Yes, you bet. This really sucks! I feel lonely. Even though I'm 61 I still feel life in me. I don't feel old. I have more life in me damn it! (sorry for the swearing.) I live in a small town. We moved here three years ago for retirement. I only have one neighbor friend here. My dear stepson lives an hour and a half away form me and he has his own life. I just don't know what to do. I take one step forward in my grief and then I fall back again. Every day no matter where I am or what I do I have this deep pain inside of me. It's just there, like a rock in my stomach. It's an actual pain, but it feels like no other pain I have ever felt. I need this to end. I need so badly for this to change. I feel scared It's never going to end. That I will always feel this lonely and horrible. Sorry this is such a downer. This is exactly the kind of post that I find hard to read with out feeling terrible myself.
Peace and warm love to you all,
Pam

If you lived closer I'd be happy to met up with you :) but thank God we got the Internet . I often wonder how people dealt with grief before the Internet ., had to be a lot worse for them. Being able to reseach grief has helped me and heck it's what got me to this site.
Take care
And I can tell you that their are some great people on here and they give great advice
I miss Vic's physical presence everyday but some days are worse than others, some days I cry other days I don't. I find the only way to get through it is to just take it one day at a time and try not to worry about how I will feel tomorrow. There is really not much anyone can say or do to make it easier, I rely on my faith in God to carry me through it each day so I try to keep my focus is on Him rather than on myself or my circumstances, in return He gives me comfort and peace. Although that doesn't take away my sadness from missing Vic so much, it does make it more bearable and I have the reassurance that although Vic's presence is gone from this earth, he is still very much alive and I will see him again in heaven where he dwells with God now. This life is short but eternity is forever, I will see Vic again and knowing that gives me comfort.

John 16:33 I have told you these things so that you will have peace of heart and mind, Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows, but cheer up, for I have overcome the world,
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
Don't pressure yourself, just do what feels right every day. Crying is normal and so is napping. Go out when you feel and come home when you want. Welcome to the group no one wants to join. You are not alone. We've been through it and your with people who understand. Sharon
