A friend recently told me that to believe that a person would live with the intense pain of grief all their life was foolish. My friend has indeed walked in my shoes when he lost his partner several years ago. Stan in no way was suggesting that the need to grieve is not necessary, he was simply stating that to waste ones precious life by living in the past was a dishonor to not only oneself but also to the loved one who was lost. In many ways my friends statement rang true to my ears and sense our conversation I believe that his point has merit
I Know with out a doubt that Michael would feel intense pain if he were to see me choosing to live in the shadows of the past as opposed to walking into the light that symbolizes a good life filled with both adventure and ordinary days of work and keeping care of a home and family. Mike would want me to take the spiritual knowledge that I have gained sense is passing and to hold it deep inside myself until we are one day reunited. I know that my life will never be the same without Mike by my side. However, my life will continue to have merit and a sense of purpose. I will in time find myself running towards my new beginning with Mike tucked safely in my heart, my memory and my very essence.

My mom passed away on June 18th. I was her cargiver and only child. Although she was 89 years young and it was "expected" I don't know how to BREATHE without her. I stay busy throughout the day but I can only do that so long until I burn out! I'm all alone now and don't know what I'm going to do!! I can only fake it for so long. I'm TIRED of losing my people!!!!

On the other hand, I also find myself fighting off feelings of guilt when I start to feel joy. I just feel so bad that Larry had to die. His biggest fear was not getting to live long enough to enjoy retirement, and that's what happened. He worked hard his whole life. But, again, I know for sure in my heart of hearts he would not want me to be sad forever and not enjoy life.
