Truth be told, none of us really know what to do. The pain is beyond anything that any of us could have ever imagined. Odds are it will get worse before it gets better. And once it gets better it gets worse again. I am approaching 17 months. My pain is not nearly is raw and I don't have the protection offered by the widows fog. If you have children who depend on you then you will find the strength you need inside. Deep inside. Now is the time for you to pray like you have never prayed before. The strength we find to carry on comes from God whether we know him or not. Focus I'm keeping your self strong by eating sleeping and drinking lots water. I am so sorry for your loss but glad you found your way to this forum. As Scottie said none us us know what do to. It's been just 6 weeks for me and I would give anything to have my husband back but the sad truth is, I can't. You may feel your life is over but it is not. Love his and your children is all that you need to do. This takes time to get through but everyone is different when my first husband at the age of 20 fell off that building at work and died while i was pregnant without our second child our son was 16 months old. I Never Ever thought I would be able to move on but I did and now my second husband of 36 years if gone ..I am grateful for our children..we had more. Life will never be the same but it takes time :) Hugs

This uncharted territory for those who haven't gone thru it. That's why it is so important for you to reach out for those who have been there. especially in the beginning. It is thru them and your faith that you will find your way to the next day. First take your time. After a little over a year I can promise you it will get better. It is not something to get over but you learn your own way to live with it. Your life will be rebuilt now. But for now take you time. Take it a day at a time. a minute at a time if you have to. Be patient with you. If you are a lady of faith. stay in your faith. He will show you a way thru and will never leave you. You do have those children God has entrusted you with. So, although it is hard, be strong for them. They will need you more than ever. To be honest, your right. The life you had with him is gone. It has changed and none of us would have chosen this. But we have to keep moving one step at a time. Just keep breathing and moving. Take your time. Don't let anyone tell you it's time to get over it and start living. Only you will know when it is time to move on. And you want get over it but learn to live with it. Just reach out for others right now who has been thru this and ask for help from those you trust.
