I won't marry again. I'm 62, I'm crippled w/MS, I am not interested and nobody is interested back -- and that's just fine with me.
I have much to be thankful for, oh Lord, how things could have been much worse, were it a different time and place in our lives. I have great kids, grandkids, siblings and friends. I am still employed, in spite of my MS and am not destitute. I did not lose my home and had the freedom to make decisions about my living circumstances without being forced.
So I have had the "luxury" to mourn him properly. No anger or resentment or desperation, just grief. I love him, I miss him, I will always be "waiting" for him.
I have embraced my grief -- it is a part of who I am now. As a result, I have found that I feel a certain peace in acknowledging that to myself.
It sounds like you are of a similar frame of mind, jersey -- and we are just fine, thankyouverymuch. ;)
Today is the 3rd yr. anniversary of my husband's passing. So this time of year is the hardest time of year for me. I feel so down & out that all I have been doing is crying. I lost my husband to cancer as well so I can totally understand what you are feeling. I don't think it will ever get any easier.
